If you want to use another rom , the first , you have to extract the kdz using lgutils. Then extract the cab file . Extract the dz file with dzdecryptor . Replace the two files .Create the dz file with dzcreator , create the cab file. Create the kdz file with LG R&D test tool . Then you can flash it to your phone .After flash you will have fastboot . In fastboot mode flash the clockwork recovery to the recovery partition.

I have done it with the greek rom.

Install recovery image according to the original post .

If you want to use the black status bar too with the greek rom (based on the russian guys original work, but ported to greek rom) download the update.zip http://addat.hu/293f37f9/update.zip.html .

Install the update.zip from recovery mode. The update.zip should be placed to the root of the sdcard .

Not fully ported , the framework was only modified , the rom is still odexed. Layar,shazam,sims,app advisor removed.

Hi guys, I think I have finally got fastboot working on my phone and pc thanks to this version.

When I put in the command "fastboot flash recovery <recovery_clockwork_2.5.0.5_swift>.img" I get the following error:

The system cannot find message text for message number 0x2 in the message file for System.??

I´ve modified the Baltic with the two files attached to the russian KDZ file wich enables fastboot on LG GT540, I followed the instructions of Joestone.

Nope, it dosnt, tryied like 5times. Camera + Power dont get me into fastboot. The ROM works well, i cant get into fastboot only.

Well so I compiled the rom again. These are the steps I followed:

1st. Extracted the cab from the baltic KDZ with KP500-utils.

2nd. Extracted the cab with winrar, resulting two files, the DZ file and the phone model dll.

3rd. Extracted the DZ file with Dzdecrypt, resulting a bunch of mbn files.

4th. Replaced the appsboot.mbn and the appsboothd.mbn who were inside the CIS rar.

5th. Created the DZ file with Dvcreate.

6th. Created the KDZ file with UpTestEX.exe (dz and dll).

I think these are the correct steps for creating any 2.1 rom with fastboot, so can anybody test it, ilovelg in particullar, can you test it if this time you can boot in fastboot mode?

Hello people. I'm having some problems with de recovery and I have one doubt.

So i have installed the modified greek ROM with fastboot. Then i enter in fastboot mode (camera+power) and after this:

you need to write a command for upload recovery

fastboot flash recovery <recovery_name>.img

open recovery - HOME+POWER.

scrolling menu VOLUME UP/VOLUME DOWN, select item SEND CALL, return/cancel END OF CALL.

That is correct. :)

Sometimes mine is temprimental as well.

However, I got around it by doing this: Turn your pnone off, once its off plug in the usb cable and then hold camera+power.

As soon as you put the usb cable into the phone it starts to turn on so you have to be quick to hold camera+power, but that usually puts it into fastboot mode for me if the other way does not work. :)

Sometimes mine is temprimental as well.
