Guest popoyaya Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 i personally prefer htc_ime. its got just the right amount of intuition that i need in a smart keyboard. Plus, there are high as well as medium resolution versions available, so im sure u can find one for your pulse. does this need a rooted phone as all i get is a blank screen?

Guest Freekers Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Swype... BUT since it's still in beta, it's quite buggy. Issues I have with swype: Really laggy and slow, does not remember new words I put in, does not delete words from dictonary when I ask it to do so and keeps showing me swype tips even when I have them turned off. So in short: Swype is great, but they really need to fix the above bugs before i start using it. SlideIT is an alternative, but I don't like it. Swype just feels better and moreover has better word recognition. For instance if I want to trype 'en', I swype en. If I want to type 'een', I double swype an e and then n. SlideIT doesn't have this possibility. It doesnt support swiping one letter multiple times to indicate your want that letter twice or something, so it always shows me 'en' instead of 'een' first, which is highly annoying. At the moment, I am using Smart Keyboard Pro. It's the best keyboard I have tried so far. Fast/responsive, very good word recognition and user dictionary.

Guest squidlr Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 I like the stock Android keyboard. I'm 95% accurate typing with this. For some reason, I was making more errors on the HTC keyboard mod.
Guest G0DSPEED Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 I had no trouble with the HTC_IME keyboard when first installed, fast and accurate. However it now seems to of become a laggy mess for some reason :P It also has a has a mind of its own adding full stops followed by an automatic space then a capital letter for no reason whatsoever. Also after entering a full stop it will automatically put a space in so typing web addresses (.co.uk etc) is a real fiddly job. Gonna try some other alternatives.
Guest RoccoSiffredi Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Which keyboard has the largest keys?

Guest adamsy Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Smart Keyboard Pro (Android Market) is my absolute fav KB Fast and reliable...
Guest Nick Rhodes Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Tried swift keyboard and I found the predictive text kept swaying between telepathic and pathetic for the way I type and compose Wnglish which made it frustrating. I've tried Touchpal version off market place and pre installed, both good, but due to lack of utilising custom dictionary made its prediction not optimal (I wont go as far as saying bad). Also find the UI not quite as slick as Smart keyboard or HTC IME, presentation of the suggested words for example. I am currently torn between HTC IME and Smart keyboard, both have similarly good quality predictive text and keyboard layouts, differences in how suggested words are displayed. I've only had a quick play with Swype on a friends phone and it does seem rather good concept.
Guest cubegame Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Which ever keyboard I try to install it doesn't work anyway? Is there anything else that I need to do apart from selecting the keyboard in settings?
Guest Solten Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 I prefer the stock Android... :P
Guest G0DSPEED Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Which ever keyboard I try to install it doesn't work anyway? Is there anything else that I need to do apart from selecting the keyboard in settings? You don't select it in settings, you select it by tapping and holding in a text input window (for example typing a txt message) then you can 'select input method' and choose the keyboard to use :P Cheers G
