Guest PeterPandroid Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 (edited) A can confirm that the following Bluetooth keyboards are working with the SFApple BT Keyboard (model: A1314)Maplin BT keyboard (code: N03JA)Dell XTBT01 (a ThinkOutside rebrand, aka Stowaway)I used the same setup for all three keyboards. Ensure Bluekeyboard JP is installed. Enable it from SETTINGS / LANGUAGE & KEYBOARDS Enter any numeric code into AndroidSF when pairing, then, enter the same code into the target keyboard followed by <enter> SF will report 'paired but not connected' Select the chosen keyboard from Bluekeyboard Select the appropriate keyboard layout Long-press in any SF text box to select Bluekeyboard JP as the 'input method'. See also: 'How to pairing' from Developer's site The key mapping of the Apple A1314 is useable but would benefit from some recoding. Pp Edited November 16, 2010 by PeterPandroid
Guest oh!dougal Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 Good news, but ... ... The key mapping of the Apple A1314 is useable but would benefit from some recoding. That's kinda what I feared. I think even a UK PC layout would be much closer than the UK Apple layout would be to the US Apple keyboard that I gather the software is written for. Did you detect any mis-mapping of any keys on the pseudo-US-pc layouts of the Dell and Maplin? (The keys may be in odd places, but I'd expect the key legends (what's on them) to accurately signal what they give ...)

The Dell / ThinkOutside / iGo / Stowaway is all mapped correctly bar the left/right chevrons which produce square-brackets (the square bracket keys also produce square brackets (Coder tsk!) I'll check the Apple A1314 and the Maplin N03JA tomorrow and report back. Edited November 16, 2010 by PeterPandroid
Guest Broc Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 i'm very happy with my phone explorer  Which app are you using? I've just discovered this http://download.cnet.com/Android-Manager-W...tml?tag=mncol;1 which is allowing me to send single 160 character sms texted typed from my keyboard connected by wifi
Guest PeterPandroid Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 (edited) I'm finding that the my three BT keyboards (ThinkOutside, Maplin and Apple) all work immediately after their pairing but can be devilishly difficult to re-connect on successive connections. I'm suspecting, quite possibly wrongly, some failing within 'BluetoothKeyboard JSP' since the SF smoothly reconnects with other BT devices. Edited November 24, 2010 by PeterPandroid
