Guest Azurren Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 This one is 5000mAh with ZTE Blade's 1250 mAh battery, would this give 4 full charges using this product? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004AM1OK4/ Any one bought this or similar item? Sadly it never seems to work that way ;) But you should be able to get at least 2 charges out of it
Guest nrev Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Any one bought this or similar item? I have one. I get around 2 charges of my Blade from it, as the poster above predicts. You may like to know that I have found that it is better to charge the battery pack from a mains powered USB charger than from a PC - my PC ports don't seem to have enough oomph to charge it fully.
Guest HMZX Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 why not buy a wind up charger? http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=wind+up...6.c0.m270.l1313

Guest Teasy Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 (edited) Bought two Energizer XP1000 (1000mAh) external battery chargers from ebay. Normally £20 but there's a guy on there doing them for £6.99 each (plus £1.99 delivery): http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Energizer-Portable-E...=item19c2eb1d63 They're very portable, as wide as the San Fran but not as tall and about half as thick, comes with numerous connectors including the one for the San Fran. Also has a guarantee that if you have a device it won't work with, now or in the future, they'll make a connector for it (life time guarantee). Pretty happy with them so far. Guest nrev Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 Bought two Energizer XP1000 (1000mAh) external battery chargers from ebay. What is your experience of using them in practice? I suppose you need to swap the chargers halfway through to fully charge the phone if it was running low?

They are listed as having a 1000mAh capacity, which is less that the capacity of the SF battery, so it cannot fully charge an SF, but the a re-chargable emergency charger it doesn't seem a bad price. I paid about £20 for a 5000mAh capacity from Amazon, however that was on a sale of some sort.

At the moment I really just use one of them to top the phone up if its running very low and I don't have a charger (having two means I don't get caught out if I forget to charge one of them). I take one to work every day, so if I've forgotten to charge and the phone gets a bit low I can just plug it in and get some extra power. Edited February 5, 2011 by Teasy

Yeah I've seen some good deals on higher capacity chargers, but I wanted something small and slim and 2000mAh (combined) sounded good enough to me. I'll probably end up getting a higher capacity charger eventually, for holidays and stuff, especially when I get my 3DS ;) Edited February 5, 2011 by Teasy
Guest That-Guy Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Made a similar post like this a while back looking for an External Battery, this may help a few people: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-for-the-blade/ Also The Power Monkey is only £8 from Orange: http://www.orangeaccessories.co.uk/powermo...&lpos=0pc=6 Hope this helps ;)
Guest Niks10 Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 I like these higher capacity (5000mAh) external battery pack. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004AM1OK4 Just not sure how many charging/discharging cycle it can take before its dead. Hopefully it should be at least 500+ cycles.
Guest shpal Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Has anyone tried this? http://www.focalprice.com/MC160B/Portable_...orch_Black.html
Guest samjam Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Has anyone tried this? http://www.focalprice.com/MC160B/Portable_...orch_Black.html I've not, but the description is troubling to me: It claims to have 2200mAh battery - which is plausible, you can get AA NiMH batteries of that capacity - which it looks to be. But further on it says: Pack including: 1 × 1500mAh Solar Mobile Charger which is weird. I don't think it has a solar charger, whose output is measured usually in watts (power) rather then mAh (charge) However the idea is great! It makes sense to add a torch-head to the battery to make it more useful. I would buy on at £5 without thinking

Like you, just wish i twas a little cheaper and I'd give it a go.
Guest shpal Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 I bought a short one from this seller. Seems to work fine for charging from the laptop, haven't tried it in the charger. I'm looking for a short cable to connect my nexxus powerpack to my phone when out and about I don't want to get tangled up in cable!!! Probably 6 - 8 inches..I did a search and saw the above post but the link isn't working - can anyone recommend one? Thanks BTW - very pleased with nexxus powerpack
