Titanium Backup can now remove applications using the recovery exploit

Titanium Backup now supports remove applications from NAND/eMMC locked system partitions via my recovery exploit! :)

It's included in the free version from the Android Market, if you like it please consider supporting the paid version. :) If you really like it, please consider signing up to a MoDaCo Ad Free or MoDaCo Plus account too (MoDaCo Plus includes a Titanium Backup Pro license!)

I posted some pics of the process in action on my G2 below! :(

Can you update to newer OTAs after removing stock apps?

Only by reverting to stock first.

So factory reset would be enough?

BTW. I was wondering if now we have possibility to change the HD keyboard into the one from Z? I hate arrows in my keyboard. I'd love to have bigger letters instead. What do you think Paul?

It all works fine until it should reboot, but instead the exclamation mark appears and if you press the power button it says "signature verification failed". Any tips?

I have LeeDroid 2.2f and even downloaded ZipSigner (the app that Titanium Backup uses to sign it's own zip backups that, incidentally, can be called update.zip as well). On xda-developers's Leedroid thread there is a "I have lost my clockwork recovery update.zip from my sd" downloadable zip file which I have downlaoded and placed on the root of my SD card. I tried signing this zip file but it did not work.

Is there a guide one could follow to better understand / sort out the problem?

Thanks

Hi there,

When you do this through Titanium Backup, you get a big warning message saying "the app should be removed IRREVERSIBLY!"

So my question is this:

Can the process be reversed?

Can the process be reversed?

I would imagine flashing a new ROM or backup would do the trick.
