Guest vikings123 Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 I flashed the newly leaked BIN Everything was fine until I tried to enter Recovery (using malez 0.61) It froze. I tried several times, all the same. I am going to go back to Malez's older version to see if it works (though I suspect)

Malez Recovery 0.6 works OK. :) So, dear Malez, could you take a look at this? :)
Guest PhilNelwyn Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 At this point the Froyo ROMs are probably all minor fixes to make it more stable & efficient. I doubt linpack & quadrant scores will change much. If it's a more recent build than Oct 5th from 4.504b then it's probably still a better ROM even if one doesn't notice it from a day's use. Well... if you don't notice it on a daily use, it's not really a better rom.
Guest jayziac Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Well... if you don't notice it on a daily use, it's not really a better rom. until that new app crashes in the old rom, but new one doesn't. not all changes can be seen right away.
Guest jumran Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Just updated to this build from Stock Rogers 2.1 versions. Seem nice so far but I don't like the default keyboard. Is there any way to go the previous default Acer keyboard from 2.1 build?
Guest acer liquid e Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 my hope is just to get faster in Quadrant and Linpack.... with new kernal will it be higher in quadrant or linpack?? because i notice that our phone runing on 2.2 is the slowest in quadrant result....
Guest shineallstar Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 i used Acer_LiquidE_4.504b.00_EMEA-GEN1_05.01.05_LIGHT_MbD. I see it more than almost other rom about stable , battery. ( i test almost rom in forum ). sorry for bad english. now I will test this rom.
Guest Yuking Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Thanks, I am downloading A1-version. The recent 2.2s are very stable for daily use.
Guest shineallstar Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 (edited) This rom out 23 september ^^ ( i see it in usb fastboot build date ). ro.build.date=sat Oct 30 14:02:12 CST 2010. (i see /system/build.prop) UI acer faster, smooth but i still don't like it (hope everyone clear ,clean it, McBoyDesign can do ^^! "% battery Indispensable") Memory 51 M after kill all app. Edited November 6, 2010 by shineallstar
Guest jayziac Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 So can anyone who has installed this take a look at line 8 of the file /system/build.prop and tell us what it says? In the previous 4.504b ROM it says: ro.build.date=Tue Oct 5 01:38:03 CST.
Guest joos Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Previous poster said "23 september", so it may just be older. I can't download it right now, I'm away at the moment.
Guest shineallstar Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 ro.build.date=sat Oct 30 14:02:12 CST 2010. ( /system/build.prop) sorry because before i look up in usb fastboot T T so rom out : sat Oct 30 2010
Guest joos Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 ro.build.date=sat Oct 30 14:02:12 CST 2010. ( /system/build.prop) sorry because before i look up in usb fastboot T T so rom out : sat Oct 30 2010 Cool so it is the latest. As this one is the latest, we are going to wait yet again for a long time to get the official froyo release. Or what if liquid_user is not getting the whole picture and different testers could get different versions and Acer could really be ready soon. I really hope for the latter scenario.
Guest vanisleguy1976 Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Just to clarify, this must be installed using acer tools? Or can it be flashed from recovery?
Guest joos Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Just to clarify, this must be installed using acer tools? Or can it be flashed from recovery? This is a bin, and it's always acer tools.
Guest Ramdanih Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 No opsi silent in ringtone sound. Like as gmail, gtalk, etc.. How to add silent ringtones? Btw, new updates in this leak. More fast, fast booting, instant search, etc. :-)
Guest vanisleguy1976 Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 This is a bin, and it's always acer tools. That's what I thought! Thanks for clarifying :-) Next stupid inquiry: If I do a nandroid backup, install new bin, then perform nandroid restore, will it work? Or does this just start everything completely fresh?
Guest markII Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 You can do a nandroid backup and restore after the bin's installation. Thanks liquid user!
Guest vanisleguy1976 Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 You can do a nandroid backup and restore after the bin's installation. Thanks liquid user! Awesome! Thanks for the reply... And thank you liquid_user :-) (I was wondering where you'd gone :-P)
Guest L0cu7us Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 this leak is really fast, even acer ui imho. i need to verify after some days of use and after my apps installed.
Guest Thmz159 Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 (edited) is it worth upgrading from the previous A1 leak? Edited November 6, 2010 by Thmz159
Guest TheShak Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 is it worth upgrading from the previous A1 leak? In my opinion been running for more than 12hrs and it's v.good battery, speed and stability. It's dated for SAT 30th October 2010 so it is the latest and greatest. I'm amazed that it's already rooted? How did he do that? Titanium and other apps work straight out of the box! The only thing I've noticed is that I had 139mb free on the phone and I uninstalled all the Acer Crapware and it still reports that I've got same amount of free ram??? However the operating free mem has gone up because of less apps running. Hope this helps, i'd give it a go Thanks Liquid_User, McBoyDesign etc...

Guest PhilNelwyn Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 until that new app crashes in the old rom, but new one doesn't. not all changes can be seen right away. But until then... it's not really a better rom. And what if there's a new leak tomorrow ? ...and another one two days later ? Note that I say this as a LCR user, so with no new kernel or baseband, a leak should bring something obviously interesting for me to flash it.
