I have running this leak for 12hours and have over 75% battery left(sync off-data off wifi ON!!!)

VERY snappy, no difference seen so far save the efficiency!!!!

I can't imagine what final FROYO release will be!??

This phone is absolutely incredible, support from community(and I think Acer must be stroking our fire to help PR(its a new game for them...))

The only thing I've noticed is that I had 139mb free on the phone and I uninstalled all the Acer Crapware and it still reports that I've got same amount of free ram??? However the operating free mem has gone up because of less apps running.

Did you do a factory reset after deinstalling the apps?

For me it only works when doing a factory reset... so I have 160 MB free ram afterwards.

No I didn't however after just regular use it's seem to have sorted itself out... 184MB free! Excellent

thanks

Does this rom fixes the wi-fi issue? I can't connect to my college's eduroam network (currently on the 4.504b.00 rom)!

What about the light sensor? It doesn't work properly under extremely bright sunlight... The sensor reports huge values of exterior brightness but the screen stays on medium brightness. Indoors works ok, though

I have one MAJOR issue!

I don´t know why but whenever I try to change from ACER UI to ANDROID UI the phone says it has to reboot, I say yes and then it says "com.android.settings stopped" (or something like that) and it doesn´t change to standard Android UI!

I´ve already erased caches, Home change software, etc etc and...nothing! Always the same Acer UI!

Is there a way manually changing a file or something?

To force Android UI you need to change build.prop lines to:

acer.shell.mode=DISABLED

acer.shell.contacts.mode=DISABLED

Hey guys,

I'm having a problem with the Music player.

It keeps skipping through 3 or 4 songs playing like 0.5 seconds each.

Wait, I just uninstalled Pure Music Widgets and that fixed it.

Note I have already striped out all the rubbish differences from log files etc From this we can see many apk files have been recompiled or upgraded to latest 3rd party version. From Build.prop file ro.com.google.gmsversion=2.2_r6 -> ro.com.google.gmsversion=2.2_r7 which might mean something but not sure Also the boot.img etc has been upgraded with maybe some minor kernal and driver updates but Its beyond me to compare these. Also compared the SDCAAPZ folder you get as the Bin file is being flashed from Acer Tool.
amss.mbn	Binary files are different

appsboot.mbn	Binary files are different

boot.img	Binary files are different

osbl.mbn	Binary files are different

recovery.img	Binary files are different

system.img	Binary files are different

userdata.img	Binary files are different

NPRG8650.hex	Text files are different

dsp1.mbn	Binary files are identical

fsbl.mbn	Binary files are identical

initlogo.rle	Binary files are identical

partition.mbn	Binary files are identical

touch.bin	Binary files are identical

dbl.mbn	Text files are identical

recovery_real.img	Left only:

looks like dsp1.mbn which i think is the radio is the same but there are other files there that have changed.

Also attached to this post is a comma seperated text file of all changes including the ones I manually cut out of the first list above.

about the eduroam issue:

delete the network and then try to add it manually (by entering "eduroam" in name and your username/password combination). after that it worked for me ...

From this we can see many apk files have been recompiled or upgraded to latest 3rd party version.

Running this ROM for a couple of hours and things I noticed:

- boots faster

- a little smoother

- more ROM space but seems to have a little less RAM (but seems to have less processes in RAM so I conclude it caches more info to be smoother)

I had the third Leak so this one is a good improvement. IMO it does worth it for everyone with older leaks/custom ROMs

Yeah, migrated from 2.1 and you know what? I found froyo brilliant  Everything became faster, much faster. Also, browser expierience was improved - it finally fits width on every site to the screen borders (I guess it was actually css problems, not browser), on 2.1 there was some of them, which didn't fit the screen size on zoom.

And yeah, angry birds now runs VERY smooth, great!

But! I hate that black notification bar theme, I want default one. Does anyone know how to handle this?

EDIT:

damn, made this:

acer.shell.mode=DISABLED

acer.shell.contacts.mode=DISABLED

and now I have WHITE bar, and WHITE text and icons (from black theme) on it!

Need your help, guys

EDIT2:

UI change menu disappeared...

EDIT2:

UI change menu disappeared...

I suggest you modify framework-res.apk with this file:

post-609832-1289201006_thumb.png

It will make statusbar background black

To bring UI menu back you should revert changes made to build.prop I guess

Thanks, but could you tell me how can I revert full theme (include icons, etc.) to android's default? Like it was on Eclair.

How do i save my settings before i upgrade the phone to this latest build. I guess i just don't want to lose my place in angry birds lol but i would love run this version as it seems to run better than the previous leak. let me know some of those levels are hard in angry birds and i don't want to do them again

I do have malez recovery .6 and my phone is rooted. i just never really cared about what was on my phone in the past and just started over ever time i needed to upgrade but this time i do care. I have titainum backup but i am not sure i guess i understand how to use it. any help would be great thanks.

open titanium backup => press menu => batch => save all user apps

then flash new *.bin, then flash malez, root and install titanium backup

then open titanium backup => press menu => batch => restore missing apps (or something like that)

then you have all your installed apps again on your phone and in your market

To revert to stock Android theme (white bar with black letters) you need to modify services.jar (at xda there are good guides for that), than also change some files inside framework-res.apk

Any guide for this? Is there a file to replace inside framework-res.apk?

Download the fille I attached (with its original name), connect with ADB

adb remount

adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk framework-res.apk

adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk backup-framework-res.apk

open framework-res.apk with WinRar, go to /res/drawable-hdpi/ and copy there file which I've attached, than:

adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework

Should work
