Guest seekr Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 Sorry to hijack guys. Just a quick question, I see you've got giffgaff seekr, what's it like on the Blade? Do you maintain a decent signal? I'm currently on O2 with 600 minutes (I never use them all), 1600 texts (ditto my last comment), and truly unlimited data. I pay £20 a month on a month by month basis (as I'm now out of contract), but I've been pondering the £10 giffgaff deal. I think the 150 minutes will be enough and the text and data will obviously be enough. One question on that though, does the unlimited texts include MMS? Currently an MMS takes about 4 or so of my texts allowance (which is fine), and thus there is no additional charge. I'm just wondering if giffgaff operate a similar system or if you have to pay for MMS separately. I was using the same O2 deal before and I don't seem much difference (giffgaff runs on O2 network). I work in an area with crappy O2 3G signal anyway (I've used several phones there before). I don't use MMS but I think you have to pay separately. although there has been discussion about including some MMS in the goodie bags. GiffGaff is very much influenced by community suggestions so you're welcome to join those who are asking for MMS inclusion. check their community page. Yeah, next time it's probably better to PM me to avoid highjacks :)
Guest libretteer Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 A charger for the spare battery would be great. I guess it shouldn't be to hard to make one ourselves using existing compatible chargers. Anyone has experience in this? A bit more expensive than the typical phone charger, and a bit of fiddling around to get the contacts lined up but in the absence of a charger designed for the phone, a universal charger such as this one does the job well.
Guest bagge Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 I might be interested in an extra one too.

Guest rjm2k Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 Sounds good. I'm wondering how much the price is going to be ^^ Cheers, I posted earlier around £15 - £20, hopefully the lower end of the scale.
Guest jt! Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 awesome, i would definitely get one. Any further info on when you might be getting them?
Guest Broc Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 (edited) One step closer! Now have the PO, just got to find out how to make a US$ payment to a bank account in China! If you don't have a dollar bank account, you may want a broker. We buy goods from china and buy forward and spot deals - essentially you negotiate a rate and then send them the money which they forward to the account name in China that you give them. I'll buy a battery off you if you manage to get some or I'll bring them in myself, lol, this phone needs help. The Chinese can be so-and-sos for minimum order quantities.. I remember negotiating one deal and they said £115k but later came down to £5k. Another agreed on £3k and just as I was about to make the payment insisted on £6k. Perhaps ask them to mark the declaration as 'sample' if you can as this may avoid customs duties - this isn't something I do in business because a container load obviously isn't a sample, but when buying privately, nicknacks so to speak, they can be helpful.... Anything above £18 is taxable. And let's face it, as your first purchase, this is a sample. Another way to make a payment is for your own bank to make the international transaction... for which the bank may charge a flat rate of say £25 but then there are additional costs and they will ask you if the recipient is to pay those fees or whether you will - a call to your bank and they might be able to cost it for you. Thanks, I've looked around and my bank charge £25 for the xfer, halifax charge £7.50 from what I can see so sorting an account for that.
Guest jennie81 Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 The SF battery is simply awful. I am lucky if I get through one full day! Are these battery's the same ones in the SF? Was there not a possibility of a higher capacity battery? J

Guest scottwild.co Posted November 14, 2010 Report Posted November 14, 2010 I have found a site in the UK selling SF battery's I have no used it but you can take a look http://goo.gl/W5Nrc
Guest gavinho34 Posted November 14, 2010 Report Posted November 14, 2010 Just in case you miss this in the old battery thread, I may have secured a channel for spare batteries directly from ZTE, they would have to send boxes of 15 units with a price of roughly £15 - £20 per unit by the time it's delivered to you (waiting for confirmation on total price) Anyone interested? I would definately be interested in one of these

Might be worth looking at someone like HIFX www.hifx.co.uk for transerring the money. I use them to send money to Spain. No charges or commision, the rate you get is the rate and it can all be done online.
Guest rjm2k Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Ok just submitted my PO to ZTE for a consignment of 15 spares for the SanFran, fingers crossed! Once this lot is gone I will consider ordering more if there is still interest.
Guest Olly232 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Who is the shipper? Don't forget that they will process the package through customs and pay the VAT to HMRC and then send you a bill for the VAT plus their fee.
