Guest lundi Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 (edited) oh and in german language of 1.4.1 there is a translation mistake which wasnt in 1.2. If you open the clock and the alarm clock, where you choose the weekdays for alarm (Monday to Sunday) you have only numbers (1 to 7) , if you switch telefon to english UK you have the names back. next thing if i oppen calendar i see no events, in agenda widget i see all the events. thanks for all the great work to make android on streak better and faster. The bugs i have now with 1.4.1 (Calendar, Ringtone selection, alarm clock) let me think it would be better to have a bugfix release and not new features. i like it more stable. Guest johnnobts Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 having some issues, can't get to 1.4.1 for some reason, was at 1.3.... kept getting stuck at boot. finally just flashed the baseband and went to my custom modaco 8105 rom. Haven't been able to get back to 1.1.1, 1.2, 1.3, or 1.4.1 since. keep getting looping boot. solution?
Guest jnovello Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 An update one day after you post the official Dell Froyo....AHH!!! I can't stop flashing!!! I'm giving the Dell one a couple days at least, but for one reason that I have had with all builds (1.0 to 1.3) At some point in the day I would go to use the phone and it would not respond. It comes on, but nothing else. This happened 1-2 times a day, and always when I needed to call or text someone. Only fix was a battery pull. So far I have not had that on the Dell 2.2. One thing though, it seems that fps are now capped at 45. Maybe someone can give me numbers on the new 1.4. I'm using Fards build prop and systctr so I'm getting 1300 Quadrant tops, but it's up from the 800 stock.
Guest mzsigler Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 Very odd. I flashed the amss in fastboot Flashed the rom. Booted normally. Seemed to work flawlessly. Overclocked to max in setcpu, set on boot. For a couple of hours, browsed the internet, played angry birds and tower raiders, seemed perfect. Was waiting on a text, opened SMS to see if I had a new text. My last sent message was hung on "Sending". Rebooted. Still stuck on sending. Figured I might not have all the APN settings correct, used the ATT settings from here: http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/wiki/APNlist Still stuck on "Sending" Rebooted again. Wouldn't load my home screen, and got a force close on system, from which it never recovered, just black screen with notification bar. Menus and such worked fine, just no home, using Launcher Pro + Figured the clock speed might be the issue, so booted into safe mode and removed setcpu. Rebooted. Booted back to home screen, but all widgets were not found, like I had wiped or something, which I did not. Gonna try a lower clock speed and see if I get a similar issue. Unfortunately I didn't logcat before trying to fix it, was waiting on a text B)
Guest mlee1999 Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 Great works Steve. Just flashed to 1.4. Seems extremely fast. Comparing it to official Dell Froyo on my other Streak. I get a Quadrant score of 1873 with overclocking. Here are a couple things I notice on mine. Also cannot change ring tones or notification tones in emails. Default music player does not seem to locate music folder and Poweramp from the Marketplace FC. Other than these minor items it's great.
Guest zeiger Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 (edited) The overclocking does seem to be a tab bit unstable, for my case i can't really pinpoint the issue but the proximity sensor that disable the screen when i answer a call is alway stuck. I did a test, call my friend and cover the proximity sensor the screen will be lock but when i remove my hand the screen will not come back on and if my friend doesn't hang up there will be no way for me to hang up the phone unless i take out the battery and reboot. But once i remove setcpu all when back to normal. The proximity sensor works again. I know its weird, but its what i experience Overall this is a great build, can only get better... Guest NoDoze Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 The official baseband and djsteves baseband are the same I believe.
Guest LorD CLockaN Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 (edited) Quick question B) I have official 2.2, and when flashed to 2.2 from 2.1 I was left with every application, contact, setting, mail account, ringtone settings, SMSs... you get my point Is the transition to Stevens 1.41 froyo painless like from 2.1 to 2.2 or do I lose everything??!! Guest vyming Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 Hi, I'm not happy with 1.4.1. On 1.3 neocore=32.6, quadrant 1188 On 1.4.1 neocore 25.6, quadrant crashes, and set ringtone doesn't work.

Guest mrmrmrmr Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 Steve, Can you upload the kernel somewhere ? I think I will need to compile tun.ko when I upgrade to 1.4.1...
Guest popetodd Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 Working fine here including the OC bit. Camera still locks up on 720p though. Battery drained right quick last night as well, am recharging and checking to see what caused that issue right now.
Guest Flavio Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 I can't get my Streak rooted anymore after upgrading to 1.4.1. I tried Universal Androot with reboots and I tried Z4 but it won't work. Any suggestions?

Guest Stephen Hyde Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 Hey steve, What advantages do you think come from using BFS? Am really interested to know. you have already seen the performance difference in the stock os without overclock, thats just caused by bfs
Guest the_didge Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 im also experiencing the same issue with the proximity sensor, will try to lower max cpu and report back.
Guest andreas_c4 Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 I updated from 1.6 bb00 to 1.6 O2 > 2.1 O2>1.1.1>1.4.1 and in the last version(1.4.1) no network, network failure, can not access network operators or network mode! B)

Guest zeiger Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 (edited) im also experiencing the same issue with the proximity sensor, will try to lower max cpu and report back. You did too...i thought i was the odd one out. I did lower the max cpu. sometime it work sometime don't. But once i uninstall setcpu reboot everything is back to normal for the proximity sensor. Not that is slow without OC, it already damn fast but you alway want your device to be faster..LOL Well i guess my device just doesn't like to be push too hard. Edited November 21, 2010 by zeiger
Guest mrmrmrmr Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 I've updated from 1.2.0 to 1.4.1 and everything works fine, except: 1. when I go into calendar I see a white page with just column names like (Mon, Tue, Wed,...) and the name of the month on top of it. The days are noıt shown. Does everybody have this problem ? 2. when I try to select a new ringtone, it reboots. is there a fix for these ? *. I also havethe problem with camera. no 720p mode is available and if I try to record with custom mode, it force closes. But that was expected, right ?

With setCPU installed, regardless what settings (ondemand/interactive/OC/not OC) the proximity sensor will fail. Without it it works perfectly. I will test other versions of setCPU to see if thats the issue. On a side note, whenever i changed settings in set CPU then rebooted, the settings seemed to revert back.
