Works well for me, not noticing force closes (although i always fix permissions with ROM manager). The whole phone is much faster and smoother.

Quadrant wont run at any CPU speed (no big deal), but as with 1.3 my phone signal is much weaker than it was with the 2.1 ROMs ive used. I now struggle for a 3G signal at work (-100db at best), before it was stronger (-93 to -87).

I have been following your posts since I received a Dell streak 1. Locked on O2 network. I have updated to 1.4 today without any problems. Its working awesome

I live in pakistan and still trying a way to unlock the sim lock of my dell to use a local sim, if anyone can help me I shall be grateful. I need an unlock code because rebel sim didn't work

If anyone can help me getting this unlock code I shall be very grateful.

Hi everyone, I'm coming from a samsung captivate and see a lot of familiar looking problems that people are having. Just wanted to offer a couple things to try to help.

Set CPU was frequently buggy with the captivate also and a lot of people had much more stability using overclock widget from the market.

Also, it was not uncommon to flash a new rom and not have data or 3g or wireless connectivity, however, immediately reflashing a second time almost always seemed to help.

That being said, I have a new streak on the 6601 build and am following the steps to move to 4399, 8105, and hopefully get to here. However, i have hit a major roadblock. When I try to flash to 4399 everything goes smoothly until the progress bar gets half way and then tells me my "Software is up to date: Rebooting in 30 seconds"

I am not new to flashing and was putting a new rom on the captivate every other day, so I'm not new to following directions and reading the forums for help. I have found several other threads from the past months with the same problem, but no one ever posted a fix!!! I've tried every combo I can thing of, flashed different recovery's, tried skipping 4399 all together, tried using clockwork and changed the .pkg to a zip file. I've never had such a hard time getting past one thing while flashing. I'm hoping I'm just missing something really obvious and it's an easy fix, but can someone please help me!! I have read and re-read the directions and can't find anything I am missing B) :) :)

(this is very important for me because I use the Streak to reach my work VPN. Don't think I'm addicted to work. It's just that I have issues to follow even when I'm mobile and even it's sunday)

Did you compile with the config of the new kernel ?

The module is successfully loaded but when I try to use it; I can't. on dmesg I see this message:

tun0: Disabled Privacy extensions.

on the previous kernels I just had to compile the tun module with config file from /proc/config.gz

I didn't need anything else.

maybe it's a better idea if I compile it myself. When will you be able to provide the kernel source ?

Ring tone does nto FC in my case but the first few time I tried to change ring tone it wasnt letting me but after that it now changes but does not sample the new ring tone so you dont know what the new ring tone sounds like unless you receive a notification or a call.

Flash the baseband with the assm file profided by Steve and copy the Update zip file. Then start in recovery mode and update the zip. Do not reset factory settings, as it created problems. Just reboot and you will have 1.4.1 running just fine...

Yes I've noticed the same also, the connection only displays "3G" rather than "H" but carrying out speed tests it seems to still be running at HSDPA speeds. Hasn't changed going from 1.3 to 1.4 for me.

One question, what VPN are you running @work Cisco or windows?

I too want to connect to my Windows VPN but I've been out of luck for a while.

Hi Steve! thanks for 1.4.1 managed to get it going last night (took some time...)

my known issues:

1) camcorder FC on "custom" settings (720??)

2) cant change ANY ring-tones (for phone alerts etc)

3) green line comes up on top of screen when playing video.

4) i "think" that cell reception (and 3G ?) are far slower/less then before , i was on 2.1 update 1.

5) calender is totally unusable, no view at all, just the date. no monthly, weekly or daily views.

any updates on when and what would be appreciated!
