Guest ashek Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 (edited) This is a great ROM. I want to stick to it, but I have strange problem. After flashing I cannot sign in google account. I have seen that when you reset to factory settings that problem should go away, but after resetting to factory settings I do not have a cell signal. Is anyone has an idea what can be wrong? thanks EDIT: Problem solved, when I connected it through wi-fi I could synchronize with google. ;) Edited December 8, 2010 by ashek

I just cannot synchronize through mobile network. Any ideas? Where could be the problem?
Guest tmp_do Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 also something wrong with power management-with swithed off wifi and data, battery drains very fast. seems phone wont go to deep sleep. i think we need normal kernel

I can't install or update any app, i got "installation unsuccessful", i can download but just can't install. my internal phone storage available space is 31.31MB Try to do this -> connect ur phone to computer as mass storage, then in your sd card, go to "android-secure" and remove smdl2tmp1.asec file.

Guest Pullaah Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 I don't have this file. :) Do you get any errors when you download? Just the "installation unsuccesful"
Guest chiksum Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Do you get any errors when you download? Just the "installation unsuccesful" just "installation unsuccesful"
Guest zbrin Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 just "installation unsuccesful" Check if your cache partition isn't full: adb shell su df it should give you something like: /dev: 94880K total, 0K used, 94880K available (block size 4096) /mnt/asec: 94880K total, 0K used, 94880K available (block size 4096) /system: 168960K total, 153476K used, 15484K available (block size 4096) /data: 204800K total, 158068K used, 46732K available (block size 4096) /cache: 78720K total, 30120K used, 48600K available (block size 4096) etc
Guest wytek Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 (edited) just "installation unsuccesful" for the apps that u try to update , remove from the phone and then install, for most of the apps worked for me, if u can't uninstall try with root explorer, navigate in system/app and find the app that u wanna remove. Guest tmp_do Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 who can get more wo overclock? :)
Guest Varyag Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 (edited) i think its enough of CPU improvement. so, how to improve I\O or memory? as it was on (for example) samsung spica by formatting system, data, cache in ext2\3\4 (we have yaffs2 file system)... also, is it able to look for some features from Qbanin's kernels, cause they have great performance improvement? I'm just asking. Edited December 10, 2010 by Varyag
Guest chiksum Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 (edited) how can i lower the usage of cache? I can't install any new app because my cache partition is full, I deleted /cache/dalvik-cache/ folder, and my cache filled up next boot again. Edited December 10, 2010 by chiksum
Guest tmp_do Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 as it was on (for example) samsung spica by formatting system, data, cache in ext2\3\4 (we have yaffs2 file system)... what idiot made it? lol! use fs for block devices on nand devices is fantastic itiotism
Guest Varyag Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 maybe idiot, maybe idiotism, but the result was obvious (also your favorite quadrant mark for I\O was about ~600 vs ~300, i don't remember the numbers)... BUT maybe samsung's fs (RFS) is worse than yaffs2, thats why some idiot made it. anybody have some info (and comparsions) about yaffs2? ps. i had spica before liquid. pss. android is a linux-like os, so ext fs is native, or i'm wrong or did not understood you)? psss. just thinkin', not prooving something to nobody.
Guest tmp_do Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 may be it faster, but it very, VERY bad for flash chip. non-nand fs kill nand chips very fast, so ingeners made for thise special fs like jffs2 or yaffs2
Guest Varyag Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 (edited) it very, VERY bad for flash chip. interesting conclusion, got electronical education? or what? i did not met any complaint like "my android died while i used ext2!!1(((" Edited December 10, 2010 by Varyag
Guest tmp_do Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 yes. google about nand-techology
Guest Varyag Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 (edited) after googling i found that destructive is journaling in ext4 cause of "flash memory has a finite number of writes before it fails" and i knew it. thats fun. and my computer science lector (very old and respected man in our university) laughed on it. also. i did not saw any comment like "my flash died after 1000000 cycles :) " for example. i've flsh drive. it has limited writes. i installed windows, linux on it, and using it for many apps runing from flash and its working fine after about 5 years of using. so question on a million... when will i bury my flash cards?) Guest simple_max Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 (edited) WTF?! With all CM ROMs my A1 has got his own life. It looks like a ghost manages my phone. Edited December 10, 2010 by simple_max
Guest bais Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 I got quite an arkward situation with my phone too, almost all the folders on my SD Card got deleted, but all the files placed on the root of the SD remained. Creepy stuff xD
