Trouble installing multiple CABs at once

In classic WinCE world, in order to install an application one often needs to install several CABs together. This is done by listing the CAB files in the INI file that is passed to ActiveSync install agent on the desktop, e.g.

CabFiles=Cab1.cab,Cab2.cab

So far so good.

The problem is, this doesn't seem to work on the Orange phone, which only takes the first CAB. This has *some* sense, as someone downloading an application from the web would not like to make several downloads. Hence the support for a single CAB.

However, what about reusable components?

The CABs listed in the .ini file are not all the cabs to install to a single device, they are all the same component but supporting different platforms and/or processors.

Application Manager will pick the first one that match the connected device and install it, this is the way to support Pocket PCs, Smartphones and Handheld PCs with a single .ini file but different versions of the same application.

If you want to install several components at once, you have to create a separate .ini file for each of them.
