Even with ADFree and airplane mode on still laggy even on Froyo.

But ad free? That is is ad free working?

No, I didn't. Just doing that now.

I did get it to go ad free by disabling data and wi-fi tho. Same as airplane mode, I guess, except I can still receive phonecalls whilst I'm playing.

For those of you having problems that the ads slow down your game and you don't want to use spooky 'cracked' versions, try 'AdFree':

It blocks all Ads aswell as in games as in your browser (reboot required).

I use DROIDWALL in blacklist mode to block all angry birds web traffic (root needed). Works a treat - never have any ads whatsoever in the game ;-)

Performance is still pretty inconsistent on some levels though, even though it's smoother on the 2.2alpha rom - i wonder if there is a way to force a/the lower resolution mode (QVGA?) in the interest of smoothness???

Adfree works for me and kills the add completel, been using it with birds since it was released.

Adfree does a good job at removing the ads but the game is still awfully laggy on some of the later levels (more going on = more lag I guess?) thus making it unplayable. Shame really cos it's a great game!

Rovio are developing lightweight versions for less powerful phones. Guess this will benefit the SF. Some of the extra animations, such as the wobbling structures when the level starts, slow down too much on the SF and are not needed.
