Guest mrand Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Hi, I have just flashed this, along with the gapps and 691 kernel. Now am unable to install anything from the Market, the phone reboots once it starts to download. Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea how to fix it? Cheers. ve100 and i had the same problem, look at page 23 of this thread and try different Gapps! Hope this helps
Guest jeddy1 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 well you should have known the answer :P, the only way of that getting into the rom would be if I make a deal with the dev or if he makes it free, both are very unlikely to happen anytime soon Ok thanks:) I knew it but I wanted to know this because I guess u know adw ex is cool :D .

Guest dave0001 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Hi, I have just flashed this, along with the gapps and 691 kernel. Now am unable to install anything from the Market, the phone reboots once it starts to download. Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea how to fix it? Cheers. I had the same problem, I had followed the install instructions exactly, including the "wipe data" and installed the latest gapps.zip. Eventually, I also tried the option to "wipe cache" and it then worked ok.
Guest Ellia Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Hi Just Flashed the AIO v5 on the CM 0.30 straight without any wipe and is working smoothly! Wow! Then a question: I am using too the K9 mail program and the gmail keeps on getting started by itself and even if i have the autokill with a task manager prog it is annoying. is there a way to prevent the autostart of gmail or is necessary to remove it? In the second case is done by deleting the gmail.apk from the gapps.zio and reflashing it or there is another way? ok...too many questions here :D Diego I don't think you can easily change the autostart behavior, but you can remove the Gmail and EMail application without any negative issues.

Guest Richard_Arkless Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) Right guys ive decided we have got a good cm6 rom (or as good as we can possibly get it) but our next plan to keep the pulse alive would be to either get cm7 ported or get tom's gingerbread rom on par with performance, so far its just me and totiadrenalin and we have emailed tom and bigbear to see if they want to help as well I believe that the reason for the pulses fall is that we havent got a team of developers like cyanogenmod does we just one person who develops one rom/project, this was my main reason behind this rom but I found that I was more collecting ideas than letting other people into the dropbox and help, so with this one I want to invite people into my dropbox folder and they can make changes as well as I ONLY if you behave of course :D So if you think you can help then message me with your emaiil address and ill invite you Edited January 9, 2011 by Richard_Arkless

Guest kerbdog Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Cheers for your help, I had already wiped everything possible (except system) before trying the market problem, but using the ting gapps zip seems to have solved the problem. I did wipe the system as well though just to make sure so either step could have cured the problem. Is it safe to presume that this ROM has a majority of the necessary tweaks already applied to give best performance? Thanks again, Rob.

I´m still not really sure about this strange Gapps thing, i thought the CM backing up tool was removed and the problem is solved, but i´m glad it also worked for you! Wiping everything didn´t help me either.. There were lots of little tweaks and changes in build.prop etc that were mentioned somewhere across this forum, but as far as i know richard included everything useful in this rom for this very reason :D Of course its up to you how heavy you use OC and Swap to make it fit your demands, but this is easily done in SetCPU and Terminal. And from what i have read and experienced myself i would recommend you to use JIT but disable Compache..(CM Settings) At least that seems to be the fastest for my pulse. Cheers! Guest todoleo Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 The dropbox download link is giving me an "Error 500" message and I can't download the ROM. Would you mind me hosting the file on my dropbox as well to avoid the same problem happening again?

Thanks for the effort, lets keep the T-Mobile Pulse community alive!
Guest totiadrenalin Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 I agree its really strange, in windows it doesnt work but when I transfer something to or from ubuntu it works fine The problem it is with pairing with thePC. It says that it generate there's own pairing code, but the pairing is never done as it should, because of the phone, not the pc.

It depends! No, really! JIT is known as speed optimizer, also if you use heavy low memory killer, then JIT will slow down you phone that much, that you would, most likely never want to use JIT. But if you use lower level of the (Low memory killer), and use Swap, but with faster SDCARD? Well ?!! Than if you don't use the multitasking as crazy, you will get very fast reaction of your phone. So th final result. Jit is good only if you left the Phone work as a normal phoe, and not like some development gadget. And also if you have swap but with class6+ sdcard. And it also depend of what kind of apps do you use?Jit will speed up only the java compiled apps. And the JIT will take 100K more ram space for each app started.
Guest totiadrenalin Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Also the compcache will speedup your phone only with overclocked CPU, But the max recommended frequency of this CPU is 528MHz. So every single Hertz will make the cpu malfunction. So take very good care how much do you overclock the CPU. I don't recomend you to use apps like SetCpu, and Swapper2. because they are starting as service. And use the cpu all of the time. It's much better if you make your own script and place it into /system/etc/init.d/ in that case in boot time the kernel read that bash script and execute it. So you can activate or deactivate the swap, or compcache. set the CPU scaling_max and min freq. the scaling governor. Or even reedit some files like build.prob or even aktivate some module like compcache or whatever you want because of that this rom is rooted by default any script you put in that folder will be executed with (su) permissions. So make nandroid backup, and start experimentig with your phone. You can't make any mess. I promise that. But first visit the android development site. That's the place where you can learn everything you need about android. Best regards TOTI

I know that the effect of all these tweaks depends heavily on your personal usage of the phone and the used apps! In fact, as i am sometimes playing around with two pulses since my girlfriend also got one, i see the same setup working pretty different on these two phones that should theoretically be the same :P So, in conclusion i think its up to everyone to find a setup that fits best his personal needs and i am still very thankful for all i can learn through this awesome community! :D (Yes, without Modaco and some of the guys here i think i would still be on 1.5 or have another Android device B)) Regarding OC, don´t you personally use it? As i thought its pretty safe to use e.g. the 691 mhz kernel.. I will definitely read a little on the scripts you mentioned, as i am very interested in decreasing amount of running services! I hope it is possible to run different scripts for different conditions on boot, like the profiles im using in SetCPU e.g. when screen is off.. Thanks again and Cheers! Everything that SetCpu do is depending of the service started. But.... SetCpu is depending only on the native code. So as you can see. The Cyandogen and xda-dev guys has invented much clever way to interact with the kernel trough scripts. And by injecting one service into other. That way you won't lower down the phone respond, and you will get much better respond from the cpu. Without the dalvikvm this phone is simply Linux. So under android, still lies Linux. And even the android is based on Linux native programs mixed with java - native code based apps. Wel if we getter the informations? Will get Linux based Linux version OS. Wit Linux based APPI'S and services. In fact this isn't nothing more than modifficated android version of linux. Well in fact it is very stable. Edited January 11, 2011 by totiadrenalin

Guest tsakaji30 Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Hi folks, I want to report that I'm having troubles with my AIO ROM. With the v0.4 from TOMG it was working perfectly. The problem is with GPS, it seems do not work after some activate/deactivate cycles, I'm using NDRIVE as navigator and it doesn't detect the GPS signal (of course, I am testing it outdoor :D ). I really don't know anything about modifiying roms so, i cannot help so much with this but reporting. Thank you very much...
Guest Richard_Arkless Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) Hi guys just a little update with this rom, ive been very busy with university work where ive been juggling 3 computer assignments on the go (computer systems, java programming and website design in dreamweaver) so have not had time to work on this rom or any other stuff and I estimate im going to be free towards the end of january Which brings me onto my proposal, I am willing to invite people to this roms dropbox folder where they can make changes as well as me but please note I will not accept people who are new so only people who has been here for a while So if you think you can help in anyway possible whether its increasing performance, usuability, user experience or updating some apps then send me a private message saying that you want to help with this rom followed by your email address that you use with dropbox and ill invite you to the folder second note I want the new version of the rom to be put in the wip folder and then document the change in the "To do and done.txt" where you put your username and then the change you made Edited January 11, 2011 by Richard_Arkless
Guest Richard_Arkless Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) update 2 im uploading a v6b1 that has the changes below, I originally done them straight after the v5 release and I decided to wait until a week or so V6b1:updated system apps to the ones in the hero nightly build V6b1:Added different emoticons in the framework-res.apk, I originally didnt find them, fusion0306 did and posted them on this thread, http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=1351070 and I stumbled across them and decided to replace the current moldy ones for those ones so the thanks goes to him I wouldnt have found them without him V6b1: replaced the current 710mhz kernel with the antoniopt one, this is the commit 9795cb6 one found here https://github.com/AntonioPT/kernel_pulse/t...56c4be/prebuilt. Any of the earlier ones dont work because they are too big for our boot partition EDIT: The emoticons dont work, I just tried it and it shows the old ones, ill look into why its not working Edited January 11, 2011 by Richard_Arkless
