Hi Kendon,

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried that (I go to settings>talk?) and I can see gtalk as a running application, but no effect on the downloads. I've got about 5 updates stuck on the downloading bar but still no movement. I've tried rebooting, switching it to 3G. Its annoying because apart from this issue, its running very fast on the phone. 0I'm thinking of reflashing the ROM after formatting the SD card and EXT partition but I don't want to do this if there's a simple reset somewhere to kick start the market!

Make sure that your Google account is set to @gmail instead of @googlemail and set @gmail in the phone too. Then market will work.

I have a British San Francisco but many around me got a Hungarian version, so I can dump one for you. I'm not exactly sure how to do it, though.

By the way, I found the solution to Market not being able to download anything. It is because Google uses different authentications for @gmail.com and @googlemail.com. I've set my account to @gmail on the computer and logged into it using the phone, and market is working straight away.

One "bug report" for your ROM: the stock task manager crashes when switching to "resources".

easiest way would be if you could install the clockwork recovery, make a nandroid backup and then upload the files "system.img" and "boot.img" from the clockworkmod folder on the sdcard. flashing the recovery does not do any further modifications btw.

about that taskmanager: i guess it's poorly coded, or does it work on a stock rom? logcat doesn't show much more than "unexpected exception"...

edit: here's a way to do it without flashing recovery, you need to do it on a rooted device tho! (rooted with some rooting app, not mcri superboot)

put the three files from the attached zip on the sdcard, make sure you unmount the sdcard so the phone can access it. get a terminal emulator from market (doesnt really matter which), then type the following:

su [a popup asking for root permissions will appear]

cp /sdcard/dump /data/local/

chmod 755 /data/local/dump

/data/local/dump

this will give you the dump in a file called dump.tgz on your sdcard, which you then can give to me B)

sysdump.zip

I noticed this was looking a little slow after installing some new widgets, so changed the heap stack to 32 in VM Heap Tool (it was set to 38) and it seems a little more snappy now. Don't know if that's a false positive.

taken from paul's r4 rom - place libtouchpal.so in system/lib and touchpal.apk in system/app

Should the A2SD work automatically? I have reformatted the SD-card with Minitool Partition Wizard in Windows to ~1.5 Gb FAT32 and 512 MB Ext2. After rebooting I don't see any effect on RAM (still ~170 Mb as I haven't really installed anything), and if I try A2SD check in a Terminal Emulator (su access) I get no access.

What am I doing wrong?

"a2sd check" is a command from darktremors apps2sd version, which i am not using. app2sd has no effect on ram, you're mixing stuff up here. if you want me to check if your apps2sd is working open a terminal, type "su", then "collect.sh -c" and send me the file it creates on the sdcard (symptoms-DATE+TIME.tgz).

I have sent you the downloadlink, thanks in advance. Is there a link to explanation what app2sd shoud do, as I find it quite confusing B) . I am just looking at the option to have more space for apps :)

android stores apps in a folder /data/app. apps2sd replaces this folder with a symlink, pointing to the ext2 partition of your sdcard. the android system doesn't know this, it doesn't know the difference between a folder and a symlink (simplified explanation, not scientifically exact in all terms).

Found out what the problem was B) : I first installed the ROM and afterwards repartioned the SD-card. Done it now with a prepartioned SD-card and it works fine, I see the A2SD space in the Quick System Info app, and see it decreasing if I install apps.

Sorry for the stupidity, maybe this helps others who can't get it to work!

Ok, but i've already installed the ROM, is there a way to install TouchPal without the need to re-flash?

Yup - use "System mount" from market to make /system writeable. Then use Astro to copy the files into their respective directories, and then remember to make /system read-only again B).
