Guest Blasphemous Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) I'm finding that the screen is unresponsive quite often flibblesan. Just had to remove battery. Waiting for it to reboot right now. Edited February 6, 2011 by Blasphemous
Guest Movisman Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Edit: Uploaded the de-crossed version instead as it has both sync and data toggles. So does everyone want the current settings app replaced with this? Personally i'm not fussed either way, i'm sure others would disagree though! :P

Guest adamguest1985 Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 I'll upload a replacement. Edit: Uploaded the de-crossed version instead as it has both sync and data toggles. So does everyone want the current settings app replaced with this? http://www.multiupload.com/3UZS0HZAPC Thanks for this, wasn't person bothered about data switch but your commitment is fantastic. I think you misunderstood my post, since you quoted me... I was meaning about swapping the msg app. Sorrry for the confusion.
Guest Matthew Ferguson Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 I'll upload a replacement. Edit: Uploaded the de-crossed version instead as it has both sync and data toggles. So does everyone want the current settings app replaced with this? http://www.multiupload.com/3UZS0HZAPC I'd definitely NOT want the current settings app replaced with this. The 5 button widget looks so much better than 6. I'd prefer if data sync was entirely replaced with data toggle, not with both included.

I'd prefer if data sync was entirely replaced with data toggle, not with both included. this would be my favorite setup, too. is there any way to modify *your* settings.apk that way? thanks ;-) regarding the mms "add contact" button - one can actually just start typing names in the "send to" field, names will automatically appear - so there is no real need for a button... just figured this out myself, sorry.
Guest Simon O Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) I think the best solution would be to have Settings.apk with data toggle instead of sync too. I wonder if there is a way to add a setting to the Settings.apk to choose 5 or 6 buttons in the power widget. :P Edited February 6, 2011 by flibblesan
Guest ZTE Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Ref. the contacts border issue. Don't bust a gut over it, I think it's a theme problem. Just applied Frankish's GB circle battery theme and your lovely borders in contacts have gone again. D'oh! I'll try and have a look myself and try and find where the differences are. Cheers... :D Well Flibble, I'm stumped. I can't find the border images in framework-res.apk. If you've got a minute, how did you fix the contact photo problem in r7? It might give me a clue. :P Cheers...

Or download them: drawable_hdpi.zip They will be grey but resized correctly. They are 9 patched so don't edit them unless you know how to rebuild them.
Guest toge64 Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 ok looks like i still have the caller id problem... please dont tell me i have to wipe! :P
Guest targetbsp Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Have you used the "Bugfix for r8 ONLY" patch in post 1? It worked for me.
Guest vess Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Do a Fctory Reset and make sure that your first connection to Goggle server is via 3G/GPRS only and not Wifi... So reset, get into phone, enable celluar data connection and then do the sync. I currently can't use 3G/GPRS as it's barred as I have no data plan, i only use wifi, so how would I get around this? I really want to update to 2.2 as need apps2sd

This is just what I need, don't use those toggle myself, but the turn-to-mute option is gone in the current version of settings. Is this de-crossed version gb theme compatible and with the tutorial thingy removed?
Guest ZTE Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Replaced these files in drawable-hdpi quickcontact_badge_pressed.9.png quickcontact_badge_small_pressed.9.png quickcontact_badge_small_unpressed.9.png quickcontact_badge_unpressed.9.png with the files from the stock framework. Just found the same answer you gave in Frankish's theme thread! Worked a treat. :D Now then, how the heck do you get these borders to appear when you make a contact shortcut? I sure it worked with Seb's froyo ROM. Any idea? Thanks again... :P
Guest muluman Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Flibblesan, couldn't you create a flashable zip so that people can change to a different settings widget, a sort of add-on?
Guest Hanks6 Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 data connection is definitely a more useful toggle than sync to appear on the widget. great work on developing this rom fibblesan. i've been reading about the pros and cons of the 2.2 offerings and this one seems the most suitable for myself to try out first. especially good that you've improved the performance over the last couple of verions. i like the idea of keeping everything vanilla for the most part. gonna flash it onto my own and 2 other blades later in the week :P
Guest ladiko Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 (edited) there is a useless file named .DS_Store in the current bootanimation.zip. i guess someone with a Mac created this file. i removed the file and also reduced the size of the pngs inside the bootanimation nondestructive/loseless: before 2,51 MB (2.642.286 Bytes) after 2,32 MB (2.440.762 Bytes) its only 200kb less, but it's loseless png compression, so the pictures look 100% like before. http://rapidshare.com/files/446596084/bootanimation.zip Beside that i also compressed the personal prefered zte animation loseless and uploaded it: http://rapidshare.com/files/446593776/bootanimation.zip Edited February 7, 2011 by ladiko
Guest benmcd Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Am I being dense, or if people don't like the options on power control can they not download an alternative from market such as widgetsoid? Always gonna be someone moaning otherwise!
Guest toge64 Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Either try this update which will attempt to fix the database: Contactsfix.zip Or use this update which wipes the contacts database meaning you'll have to import contacts again: http://www.multiupload.com/D6NA9G3VKY Neither of these will wipe your phone contacts wipe did it. thanks again
Guest tomatoface Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 ROM working well here :P Slightly off topic but I find the second question to shut down annoying and wondered if this option can be taken out all together? I know this is present on all ROM's and it's not really that important but I thought I'd ask if it's possible or easy to to do?
Guest klewa1 Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Do anyone know why games from gameloft not working on r8a its seems to intro not playing? Games like assassination creed or hero of sparta those games works on r5 before
Guest m_w_clarke Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Just wanted to add that having upgraded to R8A from R6->R7-R7a that I have absolutely no problems what-so-ever. I love everything in this ROM and unless people find bugs I don't think you should be changing it back and forth for the people who do/don't want the data toggle in the settings. Like someone said above, if you want these options get Widgetsoid from the market for FREE! This is what I use. Flib has said in the first post that this ROM is made for speed and a vanilla experience. Something that I can confirm and really appreciate. Also one last thing; the battery life on all your ROMS (but especially this one) are fantastic. On MCR 2.1 I used to get 1 to 1.5 days use. I now get 3 to 4. Amazing! Thanks again, Flib. And please don't worry or stress about these people wanting this that and the other.
