And can you upload stock froyo theme i installed gingerbread but dont like it.

Just re-install the ROM without a wipe - the mod will be gone.

Not sure on the status of Flibblesan's donation site but I would happily donate if someone can point me in the right direction :-)

As you can read in in his signature in some of his posts: http://www.flibblesan.co.uk/flb-froyo/ - there you can donate something. :-)

Cannot add new contacts... :D

I've upgraded from r7a to 8a (without wiping - as I don't have titanium yet to backup/restore my apps/settings).

Contacts were fine in 7a but now I've just realised that I cannot add a new contact.

I got to contacts, click the menu button and choose add contact.

I enter the first name and phone number [mobile] (that's all I need) and press [done].

The focus goes back to the contacts list, but the new contact is nowhere to be seen.

I don't sync with Google, so I should have just the list of contacts that are in my phone.

It's the only problem i've found (but it's a biggie for me) as I haven't yet too many other features yet (like GPS or FM Tuner).

Anyone else having [or had] problems with updating or adding their contacts on r7a ROM?

How did you solve it please? (I don't really want to wipe and re-install the ROM in CWRM3.0.0.5....)

Thanks.

I had / have this problem, too!

i went into the contact settings -> settings which contacts to show -> google conctacts and applied alle the crosses.

Now even the new contact i made is shown in the contacts.

Maybe new contacts are saved under a wrong " tag" / or "group"?

I had the same problem, it seems to be related to the problem that every new contact is created as a google contact. In former ROMs, I could create contacts just on the phone storage (without google), but that seems not to work with the newer FLB ROMs.

does anyone have a solution or explanation for that?

it's supposed to work

i have tried open wifi, wep wpa wpa2 psk or tkip .......

it always worked

i need more details about the entreprise side :D

Well, my entreprise network is

SSID: xxxx

security: 802.1x (why can't I find 802.1x Entreprise in the options?)

EAP Method: PEAP

Auth phase 2: MSCHAPv2

ID: xxxx

password: xxxx

When I create this network, it also creates a second one without any security, with the same SSID. The problem is that the only network that my phone seems to catch is the non-security one, and of course it cannot connect.

I managed to connect via wifi at home (freebox), with the open network or the WPA_PSK... so that I think my wifi works.

I also tried to look into the different wpa_supplicant files I found, replacing them with files from a friends phone (HTC HD2 with Desire Z ROM) which can connect, but it didn't work.

I don't know if it is ROM related or if I just don't put the good parameters in...

thanx

Some people are saying that flashing the mms.apk from Cyanogen into an installation of this ROM fixes the non-working MMS for them. I have the most recent version of FLB on my Blade, how would I go about replacing the mms.apk in my existing FLB installation with the one from Cyanogen?

The Mms.apk in flb IS from Cyanogen :D

was hoping that Listen was back working again (works on de-crossed) but sadly the same issue as on many other roms (which wasn't present in the early releases of FLB) - still will only allow one downloaded file at a time (anything that was downloaded goes back to "waiting" as soon as you try to download another).

I have this problem too with flb r8a. Google listen downloads only one episode of one subscribed podcasts, and never even tries to download other subsciptions. In addition to this if I restart my phone, Listen downloads the same episode again even though the file is already there.

Google Listen works flawlessly in Japanese Jellyfish so the problem seems to be in flb. I've tried flb r6 and r8a and problem exists in both.

Is anybody using Google Listen succesfully with r8a ?

This is the first ROM I have tried. So far it has been doing its first boot for 30 minutes. Should I worry?

The little robot thing came on very quickly but now it the multi coloured cross.

It has now been booting for over an hour.

Should I press the power button or take the battery out?

If you've been upgrading from a different rom version, then maybe a wipe would be neede...

Yes that was it thanks.

I followed these instructions from another thread and it worked.

"Help it won't boot

let it try for about 6 minutes before you give up.

If you tried to use the Install Firmware Update and the phone won't boot, then you need to Wipe manually (Factory Reset).

This you will do in clockwork

* Remove the battery

* Put the battery back in

* Hold the Volume Down button turn the phone on

* Use Volume Up / Down to move between options

* Use Home key to select an option

* Use Back key to go back

* From the clockwork menu choose: wipe cache partition.

* From the clockwork menu choose: wipe data/factory reset.

* From the main menu choose: Reboot"

You're the only person I've ever heard of who has said this :D Most people remark that LauncherPro makes their phone feel faster than the standard launcher.

LauncherPro slowed down my phone a little bit, mainly when you tap the messages or dialer icon, it just takes longer to go to the apps. Not massively.. but it was noticeable.

Just a query for everyone:

I'm currently using FLB 5a and am considering upgrading to 8a but I've resisted so far as there seem to be some issues with google Listen, and other bits and pieces..

Just wondering if people would recommend upgrading? Would I notice a speed increase or any new features? 5a works great so far.. I don't want to break anything!

Also.. whats the best method for upgrading? A full wipe? (can I use titanium backup to restore my apps properly?) or can I just flash the new ROM?

Many thanks all!

Fantastic! Many thanks; I did what you said...

I went into the Contacts List,

Clicked the [menu] button

Chose Display Options.

In the bottom section "Choose contacts to display" I have my google account showing as a drop-down/collapsed tree-node.

When I expand it to show its sub-options I get two entries.

One is "System Group: My Contacts"

The other (underneath) has no text against it at all.

I ticked both entries/options and went back to the Contacts List.

My new entries are now showing.

Cheers! :D

Now I can concentrate on trying the other features.

Quick question, mates phone number begins +44 in my contacts however when he rings it comes up as an 07 number and not recognised as being one of my contacts? dont remember having this problem with other roms but its not a big deal

Is this happening to lots of people? Is it a known issue? Any workaround? This really puts me off upgrading as my contacts are a mixture of +44 and 07! :D

The teething troubles continue for me I'm afraid...

My 2nd problem with r8a (this one happened with 7a as well - but was fine with r6)...

When I get a call from a number that is in my contacts list, it doesn't show as the person's name calling me - I just get the incoming number displayed on screen while my phone is being called. And if I don't answer and then check the "missed calls" from the call log, it still doesn't show the contact's name/number, only the number - so unless I memorise every name/number in my phone I have no easy way of knowing who is calling me.

Anyone else had/have this issue and resolved it?

I will be happy to try any helpful suggestions to resolve this. Thanks.

You should definitely upgrade to flb-8a...5a is older without many of the fixes, the newest release is naturaly the proper one...
