Guest Frankish Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 If i installed this rom (when i get a SF) how is the WIFI does it still go off on screen off?
Guest Ash_P Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 Hiya - I had that initially but it's automagically mended itself Recommend you act as if it were in colour and suddenly you just might find that it really is B) hehe... well.... I just went back in and nows it's in colour. GPS seems to be playing up now though.
Guest The Soup Thief Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 hehe... well.... I just went back in and nows it's in colour. GPS seems to be playing up now though. You'd never guess how I fixed the gps on mine... (remember, just act as if your gps was working.)
Guest oh!dougal Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 If i installed this rom (when i get a SF) how is the WIFI does it still go off on screen off? For now that is how the hardware works. Maybe ZTE will fix it. They have been told about this behaviour. When the thing sleeps properly, wifi, audio, the notification led (and the front switches) all go off as well as the screen (and touch). But wifi still works during screen-save. And if you use the advanced setting "WiFi Sleep Policy - Never", that *is* obeyed during screen-save (but not sleep). You can hold it in screen-save and prevent real sleep by -- -- connecting usb/charger or -- running software that prevents proper sleep - like a music player or MyLock (I'm sure there are others). But your battery will go flat quite quickly ...
Guest theoscat Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 helo i am quite new to android, i was once a WM user, at that time i always fall into the trap of GPRS, so is there any way i could block this via the preset settings in your rom? Cheers.
Guest Danne_Swe Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 Great work with this ROM, cheers! Only downside is that I have been having problems with the "touchscreen freeze" as other posters also have been experiencing. Only way to fix it is to pull out the battery. I've been using the R4, and the 2.2 alpha before this ROM and didn't have that problem, so, anyone having any ideas, besides going back to another ROM? Thx.
Guest handful Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 (edited) Long time android newby lurker but first post so must say thanks to all of those doing great work here. B) I have been running Paul's R2 rom since buying this great little phone but am tempted to try this rom. R2 was my first ever flash and I'm a bit unsure how to upgrade to this one from R2. Could someone point me in the right direction please. Thanks in advance. :) Edited November 19, 2010 by handful
Guest popoyaya Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 Think I'm gonna pass on this one as no-one has offered a single reason to migrate from the wonderful gforums froyo rom.
Guest nedmundo1 Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 Think I'm gonna pass on this one as no-one has offered a single reason to migrate from the wonderful gforums froyo rom. Erm - sound! You can do MP3 ringtones with this one?
Guest popoyaya Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 Erm - sound! You can do MP3 ringtones with this one? ah, finally, a reason. any more?
Guest mrchris Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 Hi, yes I have tried this but also suffered from the lock screen freeze issue - shame as it was great up until that point!!
Guest bugeyes Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 ah, finally, a reason. any more? streaming media works!
Guest Gerson2k Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 streaming media works! Hey bugeyes - I read earlier in the thread that you installed this ROM over the top of gforums froyo ROM without wiping - have you have any issues? Did you have to re-install any of the apps? Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Guest Libroid Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 I like this ROM. Works really fast! Kudos to developer. I found problem to start Skype for Three on this ROM. I'm not sure if it's bug of this particular ROM or generally Froyo struggles to run Skype for Three.
Guest HinzAkira Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 This ROM is worked for me B) but the market seem not okay keep going on with "xxx download failed" i didnt get this on R4 is there any solution??
Guest theoscat Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 one more question~ can the SetCPU for root user be used on this rom? thanks B)
Guest faren Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 Now a snag. My red LED keeps coming on. It goes out when the device sleeps but comes straight back on when awake. I have no notifications or apps running that could be triggering this. Rebooting clears it but it will soon come back on again. Any ideas? +1 I have also similar problem. Red notification LED keeps coming on. even there is no notification which trigger it.
Guest Davey7 Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 I have the notification LED problem and sometimes the touchscreen doesnt work...it's a little bit annoying sometimes bc i have to replace the battery,i can't just turn off the phone.

Guest go4bust Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 I have had this ROM installed now for 28 hours and the red indicator LED has switched off during the night and now correctly flashes green for a TXT message. I did have to remove apps from the zip before installing (I prefer not to have anti-virus for now). Battery usage is almost identical to stock Orange ROM and De-oranged FAT ROM V6. I can live with the green line on the top of the screen on Youtube and it IS a pity that Adobe Flash 10.1 doesn't run on the CPU but it isn't the end of the world. Seems to have automagically picked up the APN for 3, unless it was pre-installed on this ROM - impressive. I reckon I will stick with this for now as it does everything I want. For a £79.98 Android phone this is good going ! I love this ROM - thanks for all the hard work !
Guest DaLemon Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 +1 I have also similar problem. Red notification LED keeps coming on. even there is no notification which trigger it. +1 But thats about the only problem I´ve got! Thanks for a great rom! It runs very smoothly! B)
Guest stephent123 Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 I have no acess to the market? I can get on and browse but it will not let me download anything. I have not connected the phone via wifi yet, as i know you are meant to use 3g. I cant get a 3g signal in my area, but can get G, so i am guessing this should still work?
Guest shakerist Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 air control , fruit ninja working ???
Guest Aranathos Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 This ROM is terrific, very fast and stable. I made myself a 'lite' version by ripping out anything I didn't need, the list of running processes is much neater now.
Guest Teh H4rRy Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 air control , fruit ninja working ??? Runs fine for me once you get past all the Open Feint poop (fruit Ninja)
