Thinking about the loss of data and google talk/market no longer connecting. I've had it myself just now and all network has died. I had to select my APN again which is very odd. As this has never happened before and people are reporting this since r5a I'm starting to think it's the replacement SmartDialer.apk which I hacked from the Japanese release. Incidentally there has been reports of this same bug with the Jellyfish ROM so it's possible, although I don't quite know how, that the dialer is causing the issue.

I've rolled back the dialer on my phone and I'll continue to monitor to see if I get the same bug again.

If anyone fancies trying this too then flash this update which will downgrade to the Chinese version of the SmartDialer. Be warned that some people reported that this crashes for them when dialing a number although this has never happened to me. SmartDialer.zip

An update to this. So far so good with the downgraded dialer. No loss of data services.

Hey Everyone, has anyone noticed that websites viewed in the browser seem to be shown a bit smaller (I ended up having to tap zoom half a dozen times so I read the text ok) & it seems to take ages to find wifi.

Other than them two small problems its a great ROM.

Great work there Fibblesan

flibble... I am still on r2a and now want to upgrade to your latest RLS;

should I wipe & clear before updating or are the changes "marginal", so I could just flash it over?

thx & BR

Your Froyo ROM is god;) Thanks Flibblesan, been to froyo roms before, but none of them really convinced me.

Yours is very much different.

Good Work

I've found a small bug, don't know whether it's froyo or the app:

ES File Explorer: I can't move in the context menu. when selecting some files and i.e. trying to send the via bluetooth,

it simply sticks in position, you can't move up or down. can't execute tapped actions either...

Thanks. I'm working on a huge update to the ROM which will bring back the stock Android dialer which should resolve all issues that the ZTE dialer has. I have some other surprises too but they are secret for now.

thanks for your answer above,

shall I wait then for your big surprise-ROM, as I don't want to flash two days afterwards again? B)

Yeah it won't take long to release this ROM. So far it's working fine without all the ZTE crap.

This REALLY got me all excited! Don't want to be picky, since you are working on this big update, would you please fix the Calendar icon which is currently mdpi hence looks rather blurry. Tried porting the one from JJ but had the yellow bar visible again!

Thanks for your excellent effort!

Sure, I'll do that. Easy enough to fix

I removed the HTC checkin provider apk in titanium, also removed the news and weather widget as that killed the battery on my htc magic rather quickly too.

But alas, phone died 5 hours after i took it off charge.

Other than that, loving the rom

I have r5 installed on my SanFrancisco TFT from Swiss with 3.2MP camera, the rom is working fast in smooth but I have one problem (for now :-)

Camera dosn't work (after the reboot i can see pictre through the camera but when I hit the snapshot button picture freez (i can exit with home button), the next time i run the camera i get a message "Camera has stopped working..." or " Cannot connect to camera"

If anyone know what's the problem please post it.

Thanks and continue excellent work!

Thanks for all of the work you did put into building this ROM. I did install it yesterday and it looks like my phone is beginning its second life :-) This is really an excellent ROM.

I did notice only 1 problem and that is with playing video. Most of it is playing OK, but when video needs to be scaled up, I did notice some strange horizontal and vertical lines over the complete screen. Still OK to watch movies and YouTube, but quite annoying.

I did disable stagefright completely, and the problem is gone. So, no big deal ... Just to let you know ...

Thanks again for providing us with such a good ROM.

Maps app is still the battery drain culprit for me, even with GPS switched off.

The Maps app is annoying a lot of people on many devices. Disable "Use wireless networks" in "location and security settings" if you haven't done.

Yeah it's caused by stagefright. It's completely broken in Android 2.2. Google fixed it in 2.2.1 which some devices have.

Hi i have installed this and this is the first rom i have installed.

The phone now is just looping on showing ZTE for the past 5 mins

Is that normal?

I thought normally the green man stays on for a long time on first boot and not this ZTE splash screen?
