Guest targetbsp Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 (edited) Settlers of Catan got a nice port from board game to Android: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.e...e=search_result Has a pretty good tutorial to it which was handy cause I'd never played the board game. Note, that the same as the board game, this has optional expansions that cost more money. You'll find that's what most of the negative reviews are complaining about. Which is odd because that's no different a pricing model from the board game - except cheaper. Note that as with Plants v Zombies, it's pretty resource heavy and works best straight after a clean boot. Otherwise it fails to draw some of the elements on the screen. Guest hayenne Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 Any suggestions for turn-based strategy games? (thinking a-la Heroes of Might&Magic/Disciples) UniWar is good but too short, Age of Conquest did not catch me. Thanks in forward

Thanks in forward My favourite kind of game. :) Aside from the ones you've named: Spectral Souls - a tactics rpg. Very expensive though Xenowar - like Xcom/UFO Vampire Slayer Squad - apparently like Space Hulk but haven't played that so cannot confirm Revival 2 - Civilization Sword Requiem - Fire Emblem (which is the RPG version of Advance Wars) Everlands HD - no idea how to describe this one. Far more strategic than its cutesy graphics suggest Battle for Mars - Advance wars ( the interface is annoying which makes it not as good as uniwar imo) Tactikon - a kind of under-developed advance wars. It's a work in progress. Has potential! Edited July 6, 2011 by targetbsp
Guest appolus Posted July 7, 2011 Report Posted July 7, 2011 still they need to be fed game doesnt work in my blade. i am running ginger stir fry, i downloaded it but everytime i open the game it closes, it doesnt even give me an FC. anyone knows how to fix this?
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted July 7, 2011 Report Posted July 7, 2011 With the introduction of a partly working flash player to the blade (look in ROMS and ROM customization) I have installed a Swf player and tried playing some internet games as such as thing thing arena as swf files. They play quite slowly, but they obviously arent optimised for mobile devices :)

Guest admanirv Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 Whats the best graphically stunning game on adroid, even if its a little slow on the blade?

And now that there is a NDS-emulator, you might be able to play the Advance Wars for DS as well. How well does the Battle for Mars run for you guys? To me it seems to be a bit choppy and not that responsive. Is Blade too slow for that game? I am running stock 2.2. And now if only there would be re-makes of some awesome turn-based games from N-gage to Android. Check these out: High Seize (Advance Wars type Pirate game for N-gage) Pathway to Glory (Jagged Alliance type WW2 game for N-gage) Is there a N-gage emulator for android? Here is another promising looking TBSG (turn based strategy game) called Highborn: http://www.amazon.co...n/dp/B004RA2E9O Edited July 13, 2011 by GuillermoD
Guest targetbsp Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 (edited) Highborn is ARMv7 I believe :( I'm not into emulators - I don't like virtual D Pads. Battle for Mars did seem unresponsive when I tried it. I classed that with the annoying interface. It's unlikely to be a performance issue - it's an old game from when phones weren't that powerful and hasn't been updated in ages. There is a third such game that was never as popular as Mars and Uniwar but I can't remember what it's called! Edited July 13, 2011 by targetbsp
Guest targetbsp Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 Highborn is ARMv7 I believe :( It turns out it's not ARMv7 afterall! I managed to buy it by getting an American friend to send me a gift certificate to my fake US account so I will report shortly on how good or otherwise it is!
Guest targetbsp Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 (edited) Who's old enough to remember the Amiga game Pushover from '92? :D Dominoes, an Ant, and for some reason... Quavers! (the crisps) http://www.appbrain....os.dominoeslite Also, I can't get the aforementioned Highborn to work, it quits after choosing a level to play. But it does seem to produce a decent amount of debug info in a logcat which I've sent the devs so hopefully I'll know why soon! Edited July 17, 2011 by targetbsp

Guest Nebbo Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 Peggle is working well on my Stir Fry B15 running from the SD, took ages to install though.

Guest targetbsp Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 (edited) Refraction (discussed earlier in this thread) is Amazons free app of the day. It's my 3rd favourite Android game (after Game Dev and GP Story). Definitely worth getting for anyone that enjoys a challenging puzzle game. Edited August 6, 2011 by targetbsp

Aww I played the lite version, it is an excellent puzzler, but I'm not in the US so can't get that free app. (Yeah I know there are methods).
