Guest max-greece Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 dont worrry its ok now i downgraded from 2.2.1 to 2.1 and it wouldnt boot i installed cis custom and installed recovery on fastboot Recovery is essential for a downgrade as far as I can tell. I went back to 2.1 after my first attempt at 2.2 and it worked a charm. I am still on the second run on 2.2.1 and it looks incomparably better so if its all still ok in a week or so I might just burn my bridges and delete the 2.1 backup and the Ext2 partition. Space is getting a bit tight on my 8 Gb card. Glad to hear you got it back though.... :(

Guest EoinSheehy Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) Ok I've the Russian fastboot ROM installed on the phone and in the process and this is as far as I get Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] © Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp. C:\android-sdk-windows\tools>fastboot.exe flash recovery C:\misc.img (and I've tried the other recovery.img also) < waiting for device > I've tried that plugging in and out of different USB drives as suggested on earlier. I've a feeling it's something to do with the drivers, could someone please post a link to the suitable drivers for this? Edited January 1, 2011 by EoinSheehy

Guest adchalk93 Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 ok, after long fight i finally did it, black rom is on my gt540... problem was in drivers, my computer didn't wanted to recognize gt540... here is solution: http://www.mediafire.com/?ka5e10azk7140q9 download this files, extract from zip, and use them as drivers for gt540 in fastboot mod. thanks for this tip, will save me lots of time i imagine, and thanks everyone for the great help in general
Guest pepi74 Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) That is all ok, but someone cannot ,and some one can revert to stock LG roms flashed via KDZ tool. Until that is solved 2.2.1 is not option for me. Edited January 13, 2011 by pepi74
Guest Sandulea Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 (edited) Do I understand it correctly: if I want to use the clockwork mod with another ROM, say the Romanian one, I just have to reflash that ROM after installing the Clockwork Mod, right? Because I did just that and the phone got stuck on the LG boot image, and it wouldn't go into Recovery mode either. I managed to restore it to pre-brick status, but I still want to use another ROM... Or have I misunderstood the procedure? Edited January 18, 2011 by Sandulea

Or have I misunderstood the procedure? look the rom has to have clockwork compatability so all roms which are compatible are custom made to do that. your romanian rom is not a fastboot rom or clockwork rom. you can make the romanian rom have clockwork compatibility but that involves extracting and rebuilding the kdz
Guest CowboyDan Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 Thanks so much for this guide.. I have been trying to install Cyanogen for days with no luck, using the information in this guide plus responses to people who had trouble I've been able to get it to work.
