Guest oh!dougal Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 (edited) Update Japanese version will release on 2010/12/24 Is it possible unlock ? If you can get the phone, there will be PLENTY people here to help you with EVERYTHING - especially how to take a backup copy of the standard software! Unlocking really should not be a problem ... but no-one is going to know anything for absolutely certain, until the phone is available. However, the skills here make me quite confident that any surprises can be dealt with, and surprisingly quickly! Edited December 22, 2010 by oh!dougal
Guest rjm2k Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 Update Japanese version will release on 2010/12/24 Is it possible unlock ? No reason to believe that the free unlocker which is pinned in this forum wont work, if you get one give it a go and report back here. Also a backup of the ROM would be great,.

Also a backup of the ROM would be great,. And since the Finnish and prototype-Froyo roms seem not to be sim-locked, there's no reason to assume that unlock will even be needed. WE DON'T KNOW. -- YET. And it would be best to harvest the backup copy of the firmware BEFORE anyone has themselves changed or tried ANYTHING. Hence my stressing that anyone with a Japanese phone that they get in touch with the experts here (not me) BEFORE they try to do ANY 'cracking' themselves. Noob help could be particularly important given the frequent confusion between sim-pin and unlock code, and the limited number of tries with the unlock code.
Guest rjm2k Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 Looks like Sebs RomDump is one of the simplest ways of backing up the firmware but also worth asking on here before doing anything. http://android.podtwo.com/romdump/

Unfortunately due to flu and travel disruption, Seb has said that he's unlikely to be able to check that out before Christmas. Here's hoping!
Guest hecatae Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 http://mb.softbank.jp/mb/smartphone/product/003z/spec.html no mention of an FM Radio in the specs.

Interesting that they claim both talk and standby time is better on 3G than GSM, the opposite of what most believe. ZTE seem quite happy to tailor the blade to each retailers requirements so it maybe that FM was dropped in favour of a better camera etc, or maybe they are further ahead with DAB than the rest of the world so FM is pointless? Though on the other hand the user manual for the "venus" on the fcc site does mention fm radio Edited December 23, 2010 by rjm2k
Guest alanli613 Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 (edited) The price of JP version is too expensive than UK version about 240 GBP :) http://shop.dospara.co.jp/ http://android.auaudata.com/-softbank-libero-003z.html Edited December 24, 2010 by alanli613
