How do I flash after I tried to upgrade from 1.6 directly to 2.2 ?

It seems there's nothing I can do but just return the phone. Can any one please help me?

I have an ATT Dell Streak , version 1.6 and I think it's build 6601 . Where can I get the original files?

The recovery doesn't respond to Update.pkg

If I try to flash Steve`s 1.4.6. recovery always says: "bad"image !

Solved the problem by returning the phone to Best Buy.

Don't try to upgrade directly to 2.2 if you have the ATT 1.6

Got working today after a month of trying to get froyo went from 1.6 3883 to 2.1 6941 to 2.2 11548 tried flashing steves 1.20 rom by flashing new baseband but would not boot up after many atempts finally gave this ago, the only problem i had was flashing the baseband which was in this original download, i ended up downloading and flashing the new baseband link originaly posted in steves own 2.2 froyo update page big thanks steve for this appreciated good luck to anyone trying this

the install of the official 2.2 (as documented in this topic)

some ppl have gone from a dj_steve based rom & flashed the .img files

others has regressed (or never left) 1.6/2.1 & were able to flash 2.2 via /pkg (correct?)

those that went 1.6 to 2.2 didn't have the camera FC

those that went dj_s 2.2 to official 2.2 did have camera issues

is there any similar relationship between the broswer redirects & the rom the phone was running when flashed to 2.2?

[in short, does everybody have the broswer redirects or only those who updated from a non-official rom]

Works well for me. Sooo much nicer then the Dell interface (horrid cluttered system bar at the top).

Camcorder crashes on 720p, but not a big worry as the rest seems nice so far..

I tried to upgrade Swype to the latest version and now it just FC's all the time. I made a Titanium Backup of the Swype version that came with the ROM but for some reason it will not restore. Does anyone have, or know how to get, a working version of Swype back on to the Streak with this 2.2 build??

UPDATE:

While version 2.15.56.14870 gives me nothing but FC's I found a 2.10 that works great.

I was being funny, I was tryimg to help you.

But as you obviously know everything already you wont need my help when you get it wrong, and you're likely to get it wrong because you dont want to read the forums enough to understand how to do this..

worked perfectly on my o2 UK version... files only took about 5min total time to xfer to the streak. reboot via command prompt, and in about 5 minutes i was looking at the home screen!

here's my Build.prop in case anyone wants it and has rooted the build..

extract and copy to /system (backup the old one)

it helps speed things up a bit

if you install busybox, (from the market)

then the sysctl.conf goes in /etc/ and is called by adding

sysctl -p

to /etc/init.streak.post_boot.sh on a new line after the esac

if feeling adventurous change the 6000000 value to 3000000 in sysctl.conf

will this be ok to put on to stock 318 from using the qdl tool? I supplied the performance fix I read about but that's out do far.

no problems with flashing and seems like 720p is working as well, I am just saying.

Lets just say this is 100% safe as long as you know how to use fastboot and cmd (terminal). If it worked for me, its safe. ;)

if you are trying to flash the stock ROM you should use the QDL tool as it is the easiest and faster method, HERE , there is also tutorials and other files that you might be interested in

ok ive posted this on one of the topics but ill post it directly now

this build is totally untouched and not edited by me at all, im simply uploading it as dell cant even make a working pkg file

extract this file on a pc and fastboot flash the 3 files then reboot streak

fastboot -i 0x413c flash boot boot.img

fastboot -i 0x413c flash system system.img

fastboot -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn

ill be updating my build with things off this one also soon
