Does anyone here use SPB backup to restore data following a ROM flash ?

I want to use it to take a backup of my stock i8000 before I flash the ROM for a custom version.

Obviously I can't do a full backup/restore as various Windows directories and registry keys won't be present on a LITE ROM, so there will be a conflict. And my current i8000 is all clogged up anyway, hence the reason I'm flashing it !

I can make an educated guess about which parts to backup, e.g. PIM, My Storage etc...

Just wondering what experience others have... B)

Hi,

only Messages, Pim and Files(MyDocs, Applicationdata) make sense. Everything else will be lost and should be reinstalled.

If you make a fullbackup everything will be messed up.

you can also use XDA_UC if the rom has it cooked in.

Thanks - I just saw this ROM option for the first time (obviously, since I'd never flashed before). It's nice to know that SBP realise people are changing ROMs, and make their application fit accordingly.

It all works very well. I guess one thing that would be nice is SPB backing up the messaging accounts, as I have 4 different email accounts that I have to re-create after flashing (POP3, 2xgmail & exchange).
