Guest craigb244 Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 if this really is the end someone should make a simple R.I.P thread with links to every file that makes the pulse the best it can be for 2.1 and 2.2 if i was to do it id remove the stupid CMmod boot up screen, looks like it was made by a 12year old lol I hate needing to change it when i reinstall android.
Guest stealthstealer Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 ;) Course I'm not. Whats Christmas for bro? New phones B) Nice to see people love me as well :) Also - scrub Ubuntu, perhaps Fedora... (Tomorrow) motorola milestone 2 :) mainly cus my girlfriend already has the desire z
Guest Epic-Emodude Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 motorola milestone 2 B) mainly cus my girlfriend already has the desire z Which do you think is better between these two phone. I want an froyo qwerty slider but I dont know which one.
Guest AntonioPT Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 may i also suggest using an irc channel on freenode, rather than using msn/gtalk/etc. +1, but how can we create a irc channel? Is it an easy process or does it require something more complicated? Tomorrow I'll start hacking into the sources B) to Dan: I believe Ubuntu is better than Fedora for CM/Android development as most websites with instructions for compiling/developing include specific Ubuntu instructions. But use whatever you feel right :)

And I couldn't install Fedora. I was lazy. So I burnt a Mandriva CD. It was soooo crap. B) Ubuntu 10.04LTS again... ;)
Guest AntonioPT Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 (edited) Just finished downloading the sources. There is no "generic" device support in CM! There's Hero, Desire, Nexus One, ... Which one should I start editing and porting to our phones? I tried opening the Hero (I don't know if it's called vendor configuration, but it's this folder: ~/android/system/device/htc) vendor configuration files but it's extremely tied to the Hero firmware and hardware... Maybe I should start with a blank... The files for Hero are here, in case anyone wants to have a look (and see what I'm talking about): link. BTW, if anyone has Dropbox I'll setup a shared folder so all of us can share config files, kernels, etc... with each others. Edited November 24, 2010 by AntonioPT
Guest DanWilson Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 (edited) irc.freenode.net #PulseDevelopment I think Antonio is making a new room because I messed up... #PulseDev ^There we go^ CRAP - unoperated myself.... IE - Made myself not an admin for the room. B) Edited November 24, 2010 by DanWilson

Maybe I should start with a blank... I'd recommend starting with the Hero, it is at least the same chipset and screen res as the pulse. Then look at the board config files for Toms AOSP 2.2 port, see what is different and which differences seem to relate to a hardware difference in the Pulse. BTW Tom may not have posted since the 11th but his profile shows him logginmg on much more recently.

We really need that src to get it in official CM, and to sort ou few final bugs & glitches. Otherwise that CM is the ultimate Pulse development and is really fast & great!

It would be a great final step in Pulse development, and I believe that a lot of people would be happy.

But we still need that src, abnd try to get it in official CM development. Who will PM Tom?
Guest spanner44 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Not sure if it would do any good, but wouldn't it be worthwhile posting on the Cyanogen Forum asking for it to be made official and ask for any help from developers. If enough of us make enough noise, then we might attract the help that we need to move this port onto the next level.

Guest spanner44 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 The problem here I can see, is if you look at the requests for the port to the ZTE Blade, http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/7977-po...dpost__p__75322 it says that Tom G is working for a Port to this device (the ZTE Blade/San Fran), so I presume that he has now officially moved on as well ?

Guest suriya83 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 the 8230 is still being sold in austria and maybe also in other countries. would be good to see development going on, just maybe the guys who have the the 8230 don't even find this forum cause here everybody only talks about t-mobile pulse. i mean maybe if the title of the forum was t-Mobile Pulse-Huawei U8220/U8230 or something like this there would be more people here. and if there was also one sticky post telling the people that the same things you do on the Pulse work on the u8230 it would be easyer to understand for those people who have the u8230. (by the way in the ultimate Pulse guide there is nothing about a u8230, there is only a u8320 :P and no description what to do with that phone)

Maybe a new Pulse/U8230 guide is the way to go... :P BTW, Tom is back! :D
