Guest positiveh Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 Using Paul's Alpha3, no background apps running Quadrant: only 738 Why? :(
Guest mbalazs81 Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 My Quadrant with I9000XXJPY 2.2.1 + Voodoo-5.0.3-XXJPY 1622
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 (edited) My Quadrant with I9000XXJPY 2.2.1 + Voodoo-5.0.3-XXJPY 1622 :( not the same processor ;) i'm curious to see the score with a zte 2.2 overclocked now we are already faster than a samsung galaxy S Edited December 27, 2010 by Phoenix Silver
Guest fiendishlyclever Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 My alpha 3 rom with all my apps running in the background came in with a benchmark of 907
Guest heavyduty00 Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 Wtf. My quadrant score is 397. I am running sebs de-orangenated rom. Is froyo really much faster??! And what does this quadrant even mean/test? How fast the phone is??!
Guest DanWilson Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 Stock non-rooted Desire Z. Probably loads of stuff in the background. Need to root, overclock and so on soon. 1553
Guest kallt_kaffe Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 Wtf. My quadrant score is 397. I am running sebs de-orangenated rom. Is froyo really much faster??! And what does this quadrant even mean/test? How fast the phone is??! The quadrant score is a combination of several tests. In 2.1 a score around or just below 400 is normal. With 2.1 and some overclocking you could get 500+ scores. The 1100+ score I got with the my Froyo build that is based on the Japanese Softbank 003Z ROM. Since we do not yet have the kernel source for Froyo I could only manage to do some overclocking of the AHB bus (seems to speed up memory access) by hexediting the frequency tables in the kernel.
Guest heavyduty00 Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 so is quadrant score of 400 mean my phone is very slow compared to yours?
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 so is quadrant score of 400 mean my phone is very slow compared to yours? yes it's very slow because of eclair :( flash a froyo rom it worth it especially in games play divxs and so on
Guest heavyduty00 Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 hmm..ok guess i will need a froyo rom then. is pauls apha 3 good? or i might just wait until a beta froyo or official froyo comes out because chinese froyo phone will come out in next few weeks?

Guest heavyduty00 Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 is it easy to flash? do u flash them the same way u flash any rom, like the 2.1 custom roms?
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 is it easy to flash? do u flash them the same way u flash any rom, like the 2.1 custom roms? exactly the same way :(
Guest UbaRolfey Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 Kalt, Do you find that for general use the phone feels quicker with this overclock, and what is it overclocked to? and secondly, what's the battery hit like with this overclock? I am very keen to give your combination a try as I've tried out all the other roms. I'm currently using r3, so I'm wondering if there is much of a divide between your combination of rom and overclock util and the rom that I'm using now? Mike
Guest lilzad Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 y do i have a feeling that rom has glitched the app and that these ar not real results?? if they were real results then y cnt we run high end games really smooth like u like u can on the other high end android phone
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 y do i have a feeling that rom has glitched the app and that these ar not real results?? if they were real results then y cnt we run high end games really smooth like u like u can on the other high end android phone even with paul's rom a normal rom (no overcloking) i have quite 1000 games run smoothly (final fantasy nfs for an ex) i watch divxs stream tvs channels no lagg :(
Guest Cirno Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) Using Paul's alpha3 (default kitchen options without MoDaCo additions - froyo 2.2), nothing changed from that using TFT version of ZTE Blade. My result... Neocore:894 Quadrant:19.4fps Why is Quadrant so low? Edited December 28, 2010 by Cirno
Guest AcceptedWalnut Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) I'm using sebs de-softened 2.2 and i only manage a Quadrant score of 391. Whys it so damn low compared to all yours? :( Dread to think what the 2.1 score would have been cause overall the phone feels a million times quicker in everything it does. Edit: Nevermind, i've enabled HW Acceleration + Stagefright and upped VM Heap size to 32 and first test clocked in at 955 with background apps running ;) Edited December 28, 2010 by AcceptedWalnut
Guest ivanko021 Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 @AcceptedWalnut: Do you have any gaming performance increase since making these corrections? Earlier in the thread someone wrote that HW acceleration doesnt make much difference. I get score similar to yours /around 400/. I haven't tested any games yet but I think app drawer was smoother on the stock rom with Launcher Pro.

I don't do games on phones so can't really help you sorry, but as you say, the whole phone definately seemed snappier in doing the day to day things. I use LauncherPro too and everything about it is smooth.
Guest roeschu5 Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 I have 987 Points and running FLB-Froyo G2 r5a
Guest HMZX Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 how are your quaderent scores so high?????? i got 470 running Japanese jellyfish!
Guest sulligogs Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Hi, I got a Quadrant score of 921 on Paul's Froyo Alpha 4 rom with my OLED San Fran running firmware FRF91 with hardware acceleration on. Pretty chuffed really!
Guest UbaRolfey Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 For those of you that are getting over 500, I'm afraid that you are getting a false impression, it's come to light that stagefright has been more than doubling the score skewing the result. It's a shame I know  but it means that most of the results are not going to mean a thing, and it also means that the phone is not as fast as we first thought. The latest Jellyfish rom has stagefright disabled, that's why the score is so low, until the correct kernel source is available we will not be able to use a non broken stragefright, then we will get the correct result.
