Guest Scaramango Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 Since flashing my i8000 to I8000NXXJG2 I can no longer sync between WMDC (on Windows 7) and the phone. This ROM came with ActiveSync, which is configured to sync with PCs using via USB. It's almost as if WMDC no longer recognises that I've connected my phone. I did try reinstalling WMDC, and at that point it did detect my phone and attempt to reinstall the driver, but failed with an odd error message. Is it possible that my PC and WMDC don't like my phone's ROM, and somehow know it's not a factory spec device ? To be honest, I only want to allow my PC to read/write to my phone's storage, and would happily use something else - after all, WMDC is a load of cr*p...
Guest Lancez Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Twu2's ROMs dont have that problem, at least not that i know of. it is strange. but if you just need to tranfer some files into my storage, here is a work around. go into samsung settings then find USB connection option, you will find 2 options in there, 1. activesync 2. mass storage, select mass storage then choose either my storage or storage card, then click ok. exit samsung settings, then plug in your phone, your PC should connect your phone right away, but wait til the driver installation is done. then you can transfer whatever you want. this way is much faster than activesync, tranfer speedwise. hope this helps. P.S. it is recommended that you have to do a hard reset after each flashing, dial *#2767#3855# then wait for 2 reboots. because many users have reported that their phones will have some strange behaviour if they did not hard reset the phone after flashing.

Thanks for the top advice again. Will this work with an encrypted storage card though ? I didn't do the hard reset that you've mentioned. Just to clarify, is it safe to do this after I've started putting personal data back onto the phone, or will it revert back to factory settings again (for my current ROM) ?
