Can someone please post the Launcher Pro.apk file found in /system/app folder. I deleted it as I was attempting to install a newer version, also is it possible to install a newer version because the file is included as a system app.

A quick question, I got my my new Streak today (dropped the old one and LCD broke) and I've been trying to upgrade to 1.4.6 all afternoon with no luck.

I never had problems upgrading with my old Streak but with this one I can't get past the Modaco 2.1 ROM.

Can you ugrade straight from Modaco 2.1 to DJSteve 1.4.6 by flashing the new baseband and the the 1.4.6 ZIP or do I have to flash DJSteve 1.1 first? I tried the latter but keep getting a stuck Dell logo upon reboot.

BTW the baseband is GAUSB1A120621-EU.

I don't know how but I finally managed to install 1.4.6. Wish Android was a little less time consuming!

Took me 8 hours to upgrade the ROM and now another couple of hours re-installing apps and settings.

If only Nandroid would be working it would have saves me a lot of time!

Anyone else but me having trouble with Swiftkey under 1.4.6?

Don't worry - a de- and re-installation seemed to do it. As I've seen nobody else mention it, I assume it's not a genuine 1.4.6 issue.

thank you for not forgetting me (and others which want vpn)...

Sure, tun.ko is important to me too.

Could you remind me how you install it, its been many months since I installed it, and had no need to update until Steve's ROM tempted me!

Here are my notes from a while back:

adb push drivers/net/tun.ko /sdcard/tun.ko

adb shell

su ***check display on Streak to approve**

mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system

cat /sdcard/tun.ko > /system/lib/modules/tun.ko

mount -o remount,ro /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system

cd /system/lib/modules

insmod tun.ko

exit

exit

How did you update ? I am also running 2.2 official, and plan to move to 1.4.6.

Did you do hard reset before update ?

Do you use Clockworkmod recovery 2.5.0.1 ?

Easy just flash Clockwork and put 1.4.6, format and flash zip.

less time consuming? each of my updates typically takes less than 10 from fastboot to finish. thats QUICK. i use a blackberry as my daily driver phone and i have to set aside about an hour anytime i want to update that. I used to unlock iphones and they would take about 15 minutes to load or reload an os

So I screwed up and tried to install a version of clockworkMod for 2.1 while I was on stock 2.2 from the QDLTool and bricked things.

(Directions I followed here: http://ilikemygooglephone.com/2010/10/09/s...andorid-2-12-2/ )

After using the above, I hit the dell logo and hard stalled. I can still get to fastboot and recovery boot, but so far have been unsuccessful in getting the phone to boot.

Can I install a different version of the superboot package for 2.2 to successfully boot?

I tried to re-flash 2.2 with the QDLTool, but it fails out with an error at

#Set Fast Boot Flag success

Open COM port success

Test communication success

Check Secure Boot is enabled

#DBL to DDR success

#ERROR[DQ2]#FSBL to DDR Fail!

I hate to scream 'help' when it was my own carelessness that had me following the wrong directions, but....help?
