I am probably being extremely dumb, but the official vega case is supposed to double up as a stand.

I have one... but can't work out how the "stand" part works?

HALP!

Thanks

When you open the case there is a thin strap located just above the pocket on the flap. Undo the press stud and attached it to the press stud that where you normally secure the case.

Hi, I have the case too but not sure I understand what you mean, ... the best i could figure is turning the studded strap the wrong way round to get a landscape stand but the length of the strap means its not very stable ...... i am being completely dumb or what .... ?

+1

I've had the bloody thing for 2-3 weeks and just now realised this could be done. There I was wondering why it was so precarious using the short studded strap on the front to convert to a stand. OMG.

Anyhow, off to bury my head in shame -

I found that travel case from an old JBL Onstage 3 Ipod Dock acts a great slip case for the Vega. Just the right size and to give a little bit of padding I have used the bit of thin foam that came in the Vega package to slip in the front to protect the screen

ADVENT10 code no longer works on the Currys site - anybody had any luck with it in the last few days?

Got the same case delivered from these guys for about £6.50

Case link

Took about 2 weeks.

Have ordered a 10" screen protector as well for about £2. Got them to measure it and it should fit fine.

I think accessories for the zt-180 epad should fit the vega as it's similar size

Hi .. I have ordered a case as well .. cheers for the tip.

Is THIS the screen protector that you have ordered?

Has it arrived yet?

Cheers

Anyone found a case yet that you can use to angle the device at 30' for typing? Not a stand as such, just so you dont have to hunch over it when its on your knee...

The iPad has this:

If you look at the cover you can see it has a fold a third of the way in. When you open it and fold it back it forms a small stand that elevate the device to a nice angle for typing.

Cheers,

J

I also covet the standard Apple iPad case for the same reason. As per earlier in this thread still wating for my £8.65 job from China - not sure what angle it will be at max recline though. At worst I will shave a bit off the leg! If you don't want to wait for China methinks I saw someone selling it from the UK for about £12 + about £2 P&P - search ebay for apad case -keyboard.

Clearly states it's for the iPad in the description, so won't come close to fitting the Vega. Shame really, as it looks fantastic. Did you get a price for the job lot?

Looks like it says 10" apad/epad which doesnt look too much different in the dimensions.... Be good if it fits!

From the description on the page "This is the special case for New product --iPad. it is very nice and unique. It has a powerful capability for your New iPad. you can let your iPad stand on the desk when you see the movie. It also has some place for your tips, you can add a note in your iPad, conveniently! there is a button on the case, it will keep your iPad in the case, will not slip out, keep your iPad in new condition all the time!!!

Material: High-quality artificial leather"

Seems to confuse iPad and Epad / Apad throughout the spec. Hopefullt this does fit, as I love the look and functionality. The height to width ratio doesn't look widescreen to me though, so i doubt it's for the Vega.

Also states the ZT-180 in the description which some people have had success with the cases fitting... bit of a gamble that one!

When I bought my Vega, I also got it bundled with the Folio Case from Currys. Now, while this case works as a stand perfectly in most situations, you need to have something behind it to stop it from falling flat. So I've come up with a simple but easy idea to solve this issue.

There is a tab with a popper on it that is used to keep the case shut when you are carrying it around, but the tab itself is only about two inches long, and so doesn't create enough of a triangle to keep the pad upright during use. So, the idea is to get a short piece of material, about 3 or 4 inches, could be leather, or hessian even, and put an identical sized popper on either end of it, and use it to bridge the gap between the tab and the front of the case.

The case is really great though, fits perfectly, has a hole for the camera, and gaps in all the right places for the connectors etc, so I think I am going to try this. I wil post images if it works out :D

Isn't that site bulk orders anyway?

Depends on the item. Several allow orders of 1 or more, but most are 50+

Try using the elastic strap - unbutton it and rebutton on the other button. Don't worry, you aint the first not to notice this...
