Guest jayziac Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Wow just played a bit with the metal camera, it's way better than the Liquid E, it's closer to a real digital camera interface now.. It as adjustments for jpg quality (100%, 95%, 90%...), self-timer mode (missing from LiquidE), saturation, contrast, brightness, sharpness (all non-existant on liquidE). Smile and face-detection (not sure how well it actually works). Exposure mode (center, spot, avg weighted). Timestamp, review duration, store location. Also my favorites: Touch screen area to focus! Anti-shake mode (not sure if it uses accelerometer, but not a single hand-held shot I made in low light came out blurry!) Only thing I miss now is fixed-focus mode, which I use sometimes when I need to snap a picture quickly instead of waiting for focus lock. Everyone should upgrade to this Metal Camera app, I was trying out Camera 360 & Vignette (best 2 Android camera apps today, has a lot of post-processing effects). But the Metal app is so slick to use I may just use it instead and do post-processing on with PC software. Confirmed setting video to 720P only produces 720x480 videos, which is really called 480P.
Guest yz2365 Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Here is the Camera.apk from Liquid Metal dump modified to work with LCR-F (and maybe other roms, didn't tried) Put the zip on your SD, reboot in recovery, flash it with "no-signed" mode. Screenshots : Download link: http://shoobee.eu/upp/download.php?file=585Metal_Camera.zip 我测试不能用在我这个系统上面 ACER_LIQUID-1.100.71_APP_CSL I tested my system can not be used in the above ACER_LIQUID-1.100.71_APP_CSL Translation from Google
Guest jayziac Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 You'll probably have to flash a more recent Froyo ROM like this one to use the Liquid Metal Camera: http://android.modaco.com/content/acer-liq...1-bin-for-256m/

Guest vache Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 I have an error when I try to push the apk saying NO SPACE LEFT ON DEVICE. Thaht only happens when I try to push with adb. What's wrong? It can't be more "clear". No space left on device... Your system partition is full. Try to delete some unused apk/files.
Guest feetoch Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 (edited) You must put the apk file in the same folder of adb :P it just say "cannot stat 'Camera.apk' : No such file or directory". i put the apk at the tools folder where the adb.exe is located. never mind, find another solution http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/1203-camera-720p-and-ds/ 1. OPEN TERMINAL EMULATOR su <ENTER> mount -o rw,remount /system <ENTER> rm /system/app/Camera.apk <ENTER> rm -r /data/data/com.android.camera <ENTER> exit <ENTER> 2. SHUT DOWN AND BOOT INTO RECOVERY MODE 3. CLEAR DALVIK-CACHE 4. REBOOT 5. OPEN TERMINAL EMULATOR AGAIN su <ENTER> mount -o rw,remount /system <ENTER> cp /sdcard/Camera.apk /system/app <ENTER> reboot <ENTER> 5. It's fixed. Don't go into 720 mode again or you'll have to repeat these steps! Edited December 1, 2010 by feetoch
Guest JF-Gino ld Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Just installed this app using Recovery mode on Stock Froyo Fido firmware (rooted) and it installed perfectly - working perfectly without need for push! I do have a question regarding video framerate in low light: Does anyone know how to stop the camera from decreasing the framerate of the video when the scene is darker. The framerate in good light is 25fps average, but as soon as it gets darker the camera knocks it down to 6fps to lighten up the image. Any solution here would be awesome. BTW, If any of you are interested in getting the video resolution up to 800 x 448 (16:9) (Almost 720p) with cd quality sound (4800khz), take a look at my post here : http://android.modaco.com/content/acer-liq...g/#entry1619156 (kinda the same post) There is an app called LGCamera (which is also free) that will allow you to select video resolution, video & audio codecs, etc. I can record videos at 800x448 res, 48000khz audio at 5mbits and as long as its in good light, it looks almost as good as my old i8910 in 720p. Just want a fix for the framerate issue in low light!
Guest fpbasilio Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 In getting an invalid download link. Any mirrors? :-)
