Guest thedicemaster Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 (edited) getting the "process system is not responding" error here too. rebooting doesn't help. EDIT: during install i did see an error passing by when chmodding /system/bin "unable to chmod cp, no such file or directory" odd thing is, there is such a file when you ls that folder. Guest Paul Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 OK, will look into it. Did you wipe? Which options did you select? I selected smallbar, performance pack and all default options and it flashed here? P

Guest wimsloboy Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 Paul was wondering if you are able to use the usbmode apk in R6 zip file on its own? e.g. I have R3 rom installed could I copy and run the standalone com.modaco.vegausbmode.apk file direct from the sd card in the vega. cheers wimsloboy
Guest Paul Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 Could someone having the issue do this? adb remount && adb shell ln -s /sbin/busybox /system/bin/busybox && adb reboot P
Guest thedicemaster Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 (edited) no wipe here performance pack, core, gmail, spare parts, recovery reboot, usb mode switcher, and small notification bar selected. the rest was deselected, and no additional zips. EDIT: "adb remount && adb shell ln -s /sbin/busybox /system/bin/busybox && adb reboot" didn't help Edited December 29, 2010 by thedicemaster

Guest Sir Gash Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 (edited) Same issue with "Process System is not responding", I tried using: adb reboot recovery and now I am stuck with the 'Black Screen of Death' so it looks like I will need install the official 1.06.5, then install r5, then ClockworkMod recovery and do a nandroid restore until it is fixed :( EDIT: I selected everything in the kitchen, did not add any zips and selected signed. Guest Paul Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 In case it makes a difference, which OS did you update with? Using the script or recovery? P

Guest zzleezz Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 (edited) Same problem here, win7 32bit. Boots to "Sorry! Process system is not responding" and hangs there. Selected all options in kitchen and no extra zips. *edit* deselected carhome Edited December 29, 2010 by zzleezz
Guest Paul Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 OK, think i've found the issue. Do this: adb remount && adb shell ln -s /sbin/busybox /system/bin/busybox && adb shell chmod 0755 /system/bin/* && adb shell chmod 4755 /system/xbin/su && adb reboot That should fix it. This will only affect Windows users. P
Guest lawyer237 Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 When before install of r6? ...and how??
Guest Paul Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 Updated kitchen and prebakes with fix. P
Guest zzleezz Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 Hhhmm, tried the fix code you quoted and got link failed File exists Unable to chmod /system/bin/busybox: Read-only file system Did I miss something out? Baking a rom from the kitchen now will try that instead. Thanks for the efforts Paul, making my birthday present a lot more interesting! :(
