Guest battletank Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 You do realize other manufacturers have released kernels for the harmony board. You don't specifically need advents sourcecode... see post #41...
Guest Damian J Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 see post #41... yes but the toshiba folio and gtab are different hardware. for example the pioneer computers dreambook is identical to the vega AND has a kernel source available already...
Guest OwenRW Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 yes but the toshiba folio and gtab are different hardware. for example the pioneer computers dreambook is identical to the vega AND has a kernel source available already... Can you provide a link?
Guest lcd Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Blocked on this port waiting for kernel source. I need '# CONFIG_SIGNALFD is not set' to be set. I will try a stock nvidia kernel as the Vega source is still not here The Kernel Source is here! Does this mean you'll be continuing with the project? Having a full linux pad with a tegra processor would be awesome.
Guest RielN Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Are there updates here? :P My desire had a chrooted Ubuntu running via VNC, is that not possible?
Guest High Flyer Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Has there been any update on the ubuntu scene? I was wondering, How would we go about installing it? Through CWM? I'm completely ignorant to it.

Guest hybr1d Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 I have managed to get ubuntu 10.10 running okay on the vega but as it is running Xorg 1.9 there is no accelerated graphics drivers for X at the moment. It works - just a bit slower than hoped Also I am having problems getting the touchscreen to work properly. It is recongnised but reports all events as being at 0,0 (top-left of screen) Has anyone managed to get the touchscreen working in linux?

Guest hybr1d Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 How did you install it? Would it be cheeky of me to request a guide? It's not really ready as yet. I have hit a problem where libc causes instruction alignment errors when using ubuntu Natty (11.04) Once I figure out a way around that I should be able to write up a guide

Guest vgrade Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Only just upped the handset this morning. Just spotted the progress on ubuntu. That should help me guess. I love the way projects feed off each other. Nice work! Keep it up! :( Also, what's working on Meego at the moment?
Guest liamb1234 Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Cant wait to see the ubuntu finished article! Well done ppl!
Guest maxisma Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Ubuntu would be a lot more useful than MeeGo in my opinion. If I saw it correctly, MeeGo for tablets is windowed, right?
Guest celyn Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 got it on xoom this might help http://trsohmers.com/2011/03/06/how-to-run...-motorola-xoom/
Guest HunteronX Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 got it on xoom this might help http://trsohmers.com/2011/03/06/how-to-run...-motorola-xoom/ This isn't a 'native' install, as it uses vnc, but there already is one for the Vega here: http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...-natty-on-vega/
