Guest rayraven Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 (edited) Looks like i've found a fix to the HQ video problem with the Froyo rom's displaying a green bar on top. To apply this fix, make sure you are rooted and install root explorer or any app that lets you browse the root folders from the market. Astro is a free app that works equally well. Make sure the /system partition is mounted read/write [Root explorer shows a button to mount it r/w on the top-left] Tap and hold on build.prop and select edit in text editor. Change the below code in there media.stagefright.enable-http=true to this: media.stagefright.enable-http=false Root explorer will make a backup for you automatically. Reboot and the fix will be applied. I've played a few youtube hq vids and tvcatchup and it's perfectly fine. Hopefully it'll work for everybody else as well. Cheers. EDIT: Added file name. EDIT 2: Disabling stagefright.enable-player for some reason seems to affect Quadrant scores, disabling stagefright.enable-http seems to fix both issues. EDIT 3: Made the how-to apply the fix, a bit clearer, i think. Edited November 28, 2010 by rayraven

Guest strumluff Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Cheers, tried it and it works fine. So what is stagefright anyway?
Guest rayraven Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Stagefright is the new audio/video framework in 2.2 http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-2.2-highlights.html But, searching around, looks like other custom roms had this problem and disabled it too. I personally havent seen any drawbacks because of disabling it.

Guest rayraven Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Hmm, yeah, i've noticed it too. Try this: Change enable-player back to true and enable-http to false. media.stagefright.enable-player=true media.stagefright.enable-http=false Searching around, i've found disabling stagefright player for some reason affects quadrant. This should fix it, i think. I'm trying it now.
