Guest Lukas Zapletal Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Hi, got this: Creating Symlinks... Setting permissions... Flashing boot image... flashing boot from /data/mcr/boot.img mtd: not writing bad block at 0x003e0000 mtd: not writing bad block at 0x00400000 Done, rebooting... But it seems to be working. Any idea what was wrong? 1) Clean Vega 1.09 stock ROM 2) Botted into it, USB DEBUGGING ON 3) Downloaded r8, unpacked, connected, ./install-linux.sh
Guest Scanno Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Hi All, I do not know if it works on all ROM's but with the latest ROM Manager 4.2.0.1 or higher you can flash the CWM, flash ROMS and make backups. At least it does on the CM7 nightlies. Just install the ROM Manager from the market and flash the recovery...

I have recovery back ups using ROM Manager 3.0.2.7 but cannot get the Vega to boot into recovery. The only way I can get into recovery is from the the Recovery app but this is not a lot of cop if you accidently delete a system file and your Vega dies.
Guest simonta Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Sigh. There are 2 recoveries. One is clockworkmod or the built in Vega "software tool". This can only be reached via an app. The second is built into the Vega firrmware and is not reachable via flashing so is always available. You can only get to this via the instructions provided with the Advent ROM update, the two second button press thing. The Vega is not brickable and if you can't get into stock recovery, you just need to try some more and vary the timings a little. If you see anything on the Vega screen, even the backlight, you are not in recovery.
Guest beegee1962 Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 Anybody knows if the source for the "Reboot utility APK" is public? I searched the github, but could not find it. To be clear, I am not searching for the source of the ClockworkMod, but for the small utility that boots into the CWM recovery.

Guest peps1 Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 How do you install this???? To install the recovery image and flash utility, extract the first zip file to a directory, then enter the following (this assumes you have 'adb' on your machine) need a little more then that.
