That explains why it works ok for me i downloaded the one with the fixed ril.

Posted (edited)
Any chance of uploading the RIL fixes seperately? TIA!

P

I'm not really sure what the changes were, but if I can identify exactly what fixed it I will let you know.

I think it was just changing the ril related libs in /system/lib/ and removing some apps (the ril libs alone wont do it).

Edit.

By changing ril libs I mean using the ones from eclair.

Debranded everything and it's looking like a fairly decent build actually...

Cool, yeah, I spotted some naughty apps in /system/app/

Stoked that I can finally set up the Google Account over WiFi on these builds without error.

I should be able to add Market to any Froyo device without issue now!

Auto Brightness working fine too. No lights on keypad though.

From a comment from ZTE, I think the Chinese (home market) product doesn't actually have those leds ...

leds should be easy to fix. will look at it later.

Here is a rom to keep ppl busy until Paul gets his done. It basically the one I uploaded earlier with gapps added and a few problems fixed.

Its still uploading, so give it a while.

P729CUV1.0.0B04-repack2.zip

Flash with fastboot as before.

Off to work...

how's this latest version by Tom G looking guys ? Is it stable enough to try out as a working ROM yet? I've been trying to download it but it's painfully slow, could do with a copy of it on some quicker server but thanks for all the excellent efforts by everyone here guys.

I'm thinking of buying another SF (maybe the white one off play) but someone on here (in another thread) mentioned the white one may have different specs.

It's based off chinese rom.

has no google apps at all, no account syncing, no market.

i could not get the maps to work with gps at all, thought it might be because i'm missing some networkLocation files.

It's fun to play around with, but definatly not good as a full-time ROM.

Wait till tomorrow, Paul may have something nice for us :P
