White San Francisco arrives!

Best laugh is that I've just installed Cyanogenmod 6 (based on Froyo) to my Pulse and Froyo is so much quicker and smoother - it's like a new phone, I now can't wait to get Froyo on the Blade.

The 2 Blades I have are for teenagers so it needs to be a stable rom to begin with, hence the 404 will suit them fine.

hey, does

this makes any difrence or affects flashing to a 2.2 rom or custom 2.1? Or the white version can flash anything the grey one can without problems?

Just picked up a white one tonight in Aberdeen - only delivered to store today.

Waiting for an 8gb sdhc to arrive and it'll be clockworked and deoranged with Seb's 404 rom. I've now a grey one and a white one but they're both christmas presents. I'll be ordering one for myself once I decide what colour I prefer.

Could please check the screen and tell us if the white version is OLED or TFT? Thanks!

Does that help ? ;) Its a lovely screen.

Another thing you could try is booting it up in a dark room. The back around the android will either stay black if it's OLED, or have backlight bleed if LCD.

Any news on white SF screen type? ;)

Just ordered from Telesales. The guy tells me that the description on the system has been changed and now reads 'Orange San Francisco TFT'

Looks like all the OLEDs have gone . . .

Well, there's still a tiny chance it's only a description change.

Give us a shout when it arrives.

I'm planning to raid an Orange store on the weekend and try to play with one.

Really looking forward to it! Especially the screen! One of my friends went to orange store today in Sunderland, and the salesman told her that white version and black version are both OLED, the only difference is color.

I just walked into my local Orange shop and purchased a white one for my other half. Has the different build number as mentioned above, OUK_P729BV1.0.0B08

The screen looks like it's a TFT too me, it's a lot more washed out than my grey one, the blacks look more grey

Switch them both on in the dark, the black should not be visible on phone.

I've compared them both side by side and the white one is noticeably lighter even in the light

Looks like the white ones are TFT then, not too worried as im not buying it for myself, be a bit peeved if i was waiting for a personal device as im very picky.

I'll put some pictures up in a second, just letting them upload, really hard to get a good picture that shows it clearly though

blacks arent TERRIBLE, but no where near OLED.

Wonder if this is for cost or supply reasons?

Anyone taken one of these bad boys apart yet? Wonder how easy it is to transplant a case from a white phone onto my OLED equipped device? ;)

Ahh I think I have just found why my brand new white san francisco isn't working properly with the custom roms. Its this new version, I'm afraid I didn't dump or backup before so I've missed the chance but does anyone know if I can get a stock version for this white phone so I can get my screen waking up after going into sleep and so I can adjust the brightness of the display?

I currently have to pull the battery out and restart the phone everytime I want to use it.

Thanks

I just dumped my rom using ClockworkMod Recovery - not sure where to a) host, or ;) which file to upload from the SD card.
