So the White Orange San Francisco (UK phone) has or has not OLED display ? The RAM is 512K or less ?

My first post here, so I expect a warm "hello" ;)

Happy to be here :P

White SF bought this morning - 100% TFT = real shame - but has 512 MB ram.

Another thing is that in my hand it feels diferent, so I checked that it weighst 5 grams more than the grey one. But I like that the white case and start bottom feels much more stronger than my "old" grey SF.

Are you serious? You can feel a difference of 5g on objects weighing ~130g?

Anyone taken one of these bad boys apart yet? Wonder how easy it is to transplant a case from a white phone onto my OLED equipped device? ;)

P

Taken apart quite a few small gadgets (PSPs mainly, few DS's etc, no phones actually...) and it should be a direct swap, but won't know until someone does it, they could have changed just one mount point slightly, meaning they aren't swappable without mods, if the 2 different screens have different size ribbon cables, that could be a problem etc.

Yes I can, and I can tell by eye the diference between 1 milliliter and 2 milliter... don't call me a freak...I am rat lab XD

Any case, I also spotted a few dead pixels in my new TFT screen. Does any one have teh same issue? I am wondering if orange has any warranty cover on that.

I am a bit dissaponted because side by side the "old" OLED is far superior to the "new" TFT, but has somebbody compare white SF to other TFT mobiles on their hands?

Cheers!

Previous page is a pic (albeit blurry) of a white SF to an iPhone 3G/3GS which has a TFT Screen, looks quite similar, and that blacks on that aren't awful, just not OLED/IPS level.

If i pick one up tomorrow, i'll do a comparison on a black screen to my iPhone 4, and mums iPhone 3GS, so you can get a bit of a better idea, i'll also try and grab one next to a desire at some point too.

Really need Paul to line up all his android devices in a dark room on black screens, see which is best ;)

I remember having read somewhere on this forum, that most of the Blades with TFT have faulty pixels and that this is within the manufacturers generous tolerance defintitions, so not covered by warranty.

@all

Allthough there's few daylight these days could anyone owning both, a OLED- and TFT-equipped Blade, make some comparison shots in daylight in order to see if the TFT's readability is better under bright light?

I'm only guessing, the left one is TFT and the right one OLED, correct?

there is a debate of the white screen in china, because we can't get the white at once.

Now i have the answer.thank you!

Reserved and picked up the only white SF in my local orange, pretty much what everyones saying, build quality is good, buttons seem nice, 3 at bottom give a good click. Screen is 100% TFT. I'll post some pics up in a minute, few more angles etc, comparing to iPhone 4 and 3GS screen etc.

Totally agree ;) - The SF white start button has a better response and does not feel so "delicate" as in the grey one.

Here's some comparison pics, and pics of the white SF, super short DOF im sorry, might take some later with a wider DOF if people want. Screen protector still on as its a gift.

My replacement San-Fran came today (First one had a faulty digitiser) and I sent them back a grey one and they give me a white one. ;)

I've just compared it to a HTC Desire HD and on par with the quality of it tilted, in a dark room. How would I know for sure what screen it is?

Think it may well be TFT. Hard to tell though and not something that would bother me in all honesty.
