I know for a fact that the Dell Streak is not exclusive to O2 anymore and that O2 has provided unlock codes for the Dell Streak to other customers. Considering this and the fact that I am not residing in UK anymore, I would really appreciate it if you could kindly look into this matter and provide me the unlock code. My Dell streak handset is unusable at the moment as I am unable to use it with any other SIM card. I would be obliged if you could help me with this. ******************************************** The point is keep trying till you get someone who says they will request Dell for the unlock code. After that its just a matter of time.. Cheers

Guest unknown-singh Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 I just send other e-mail to O2, now waiting the reply, anyway thank you very much!!! requested my unlock code, on 02 pay as you go, had to top up £15, filled out online form, then got e email asking how and when i last topped up, what tariff i am on etc, they replied back saying there are processing and i will have unlock code within 7-14 working days. thanks op they never said anything about exclusive or we cant unlock at all. saved me a lot was going to get it unlocked by rebels unlock service at a cost of £45 plus posting it to them so saved me a lot. cheers.
Guest wing5875 Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 They turn down my request again. Email from guess who? yep Sagar ---------------------------------------------------------- Hi Wing, We are unable to proceed with your request. Please contact your point of sale to get this unlatched. Kind Regards Sagar
Guest Edrill Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Very weird. Reply mentioning that you've seen on lots of forums online that they are unlatching Streaks for anyone that approaches them, so why are they asking you to go back to the PoS. Ask for an explanation for their refusal. Keep at it. Eventually you will get the code! Took me more almost a month to get it!
Guest Tim6772 Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Has anyone actually been charged the £15 for the unlock code yet? I didn't topup and nothing has been said about the suggested charge.
Guest Edrill Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Well, for people like me who aren't using O2's network and aren't even in the UK for that matter, the £15 charge looks unlikely! Lol. I think there was a guy or two that did get charged the £15. Don't remember if I saw that here or over on XDA.
Guest DMax99 Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 i'm not in UK either and offered to pay them to give me the code, but they never asked me to pay :D
Guest superutp Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 got the code today afternoon....thts unbelievably in just a day....sent a mail yest afternoon got it by today afternoon by someone named Yogesh...brilliant...!!

Email from guess who? yep Sagar ---------------------------------------------------------- Hi Wing, We are unable to proceed with your request. Please contact your point of sale to get this unlatched. Kind Regards Sagar Wing That is the sort of response I would expect if they believe that the phone is stolen. I assume the phone is legally yours, if so do as Sagar suggests, if you are able. I couldn't see any post that indicates where you got your streak from or where you are now, probably missed it . But I don't think you are going to get an unlock code from O2. Assuming you are the legitimate owner there are a few places that will unlock the streak for you fees range from about £40 and go up.

Guest adzman808 Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 o2 seemed to have forgotten about me, so i started the request all over again... got a diff initial response this time... ========== Hello Adam Thanks for emailing us. If you want to use a SIM card from another network in your mobile phone, you need an 'unlocking' code. The charge for the unlocking code is £15 which will be taken off from your credit balance. For unlocking, the IMEI of your mobile phone must be registered on our network. To register it you need to make a chargeable call using your O2 Pay & Go SIM card in your mobile phone from UK and wait for 24 hours. For me to forward your details for unlocking code of your mobile phone, please reply to this email with the following details: - last four digits of credit/debit card - any tariff or Bolt On active on your account - IMEI of your mobile phone (key *#06# to find this). When I have this information, I'll forward your details to our support team to request for the unlocking code of your mobile phone. This can take up to 7 to 14 days. I'll look forward to your reply. Regards Nidhi O2 Customer Service ========== i've replied with the requested info... expecting the "streak exculsive blah blah" reply... but we'll see....
