Does r11 still have the stagefright problem? I seem to be able to play youtube videos OK but any videos stored on my SD card (mp4 and flv) play with a green/purple bar of varying thickness along the top section and colours can be distorted?

Just to add to the mix, with the ZTE dialer I do not get the odd boxes, and I do get the correct calls in and out arrows etc. :lol: (i.e. everything works).

This was reported from someone else when they attempted to convert it to german too. I think Paul said it was something he thought he knew the cause of and will hopefully be fixed in r12

Yes, r11, and yes gingerbread, although I now use Frankish's galaxy S theme.

I'm having problems with the email app, it keeps marking messages as unread, I can read them or mark them as read and it insists on marking them unread again and notifying me of new emails, even though they are days old.

I also get connection errors when I refresh.

Annoyingly there is no select all in the options either.

I've tried to replace Email.apk with one from JapJellyfish using adb push but the email app disappears from the app draw.

Is there a way to replace it?

Make sure you replace it in recovery. Don't use Root Explorer it doesn't seem to work for me.

since I am not using ZTE Dialer/Contacts, just the old fashioned google stock dialer and contacts,

I have 32 vcards imported.... look at the screen shot

There's 257?! :lol:

As for the letter A for the contacts, I only have 2, I counted 30 duplicate contacts....

Is it the themes that is messing it up, any chance to remove the themes in order to stabilize this rom version first.....

I went to my googlemail account on my pc, then to contacts. Click more actions then find and merge duplicates, it found them all and got rid of them, back to phone and it was all fine again.

Its because it counts your google account contacts.I suppose you let it sync your phones contacts with your google account contacts so thats why it duplicates them now.

Hi Paul,

Just updated to r7, thankyouverymuch!

I just wanted to log an error that I've been having. I have had it with Alpha5 and it survives on r7. Basically, my browser constantly quits unexpectedly. Goes to a black screen and back to the homescreen. It's really frustrating.

Mine's a TFT Orange handset. It's been when using WiFi, but I *think* it happened yesterday over 3G.

Not certain if this is a ROM issue, but would love a fix if it is!

Hey, I think he speaks for alot of us when he asked that question and I think it is a very fair question because all we have is r7, so r8,9,10 & 11 have not been released yet. We are 4 versions behind those who pay, I would pay if I could afford it but I have a baby boy and have no job. - I think it would be fair to atleast let those who don't pay have r9, atleast we are only 2 versions apart then and I am not installing r7 or lower due to having to wipe when you want to upgrade the ROM.

From what was put earlier in the thread, it will be r11 that's pre-baked next. But it's waiting for all the bugs to be sorted (presumably the contact related ones? )

Try another rom then. There are other Froyo roms that are completely free. Paul has said that prebaked r11 will be released when it's classed as stable. There was a quick jump from r7 through to r11 for a reason...bug fixes. That's why it has happened the way it is. At the end of the day you don't NEED this. You want it and can't be patient at all. If you need a rom that's stable go back to stock 2.1...

I can't afford adfree either as i have a baby girl on the way but Paul gave me it as a gift for my contributions. Maybe if your contributions were more helpful than whining... This is just more proof that Paul isn't just after everyone's money.

Hey, I am patient and at the end of the day I don't really care too much as I am happy with JJ, however, I am just getting annoyed for the other users who seemed to have to wait 4 versions to get a semi-ok update, after reading your blunt comment I saw you said he went through the versions really fast, fair enough that's all you had to say.

I kind of thought you were an ok guy when I read through some of your posts but after this whiny, idiotic, misunderstanding post I guess I can misread people.

oh and I also forgot to say: I know paul isn't a money grabber, he's a real decent guy and I am very thankful for his contributions in the development of roms, I did not mention any where he was a money grabber.

Maybe you should go looking for a (additional) job instead of constantly upgrading your mobile and wasting your time?

And NO, it is not a fair question, it is moaning. There are rules, you know them, no use to complain... especially in a such unconstructive ways.

IMHO, Paul is doing everybody a favour by not releasing something that isn't finished. I have add-free(access to the kitchen) yet I prefer and use r7, because everything works for me. I know that R8- releases are under heavy development and I'll wait till they are stable again.
