Coarse location + FM radio seem to be no go! I have looked pretty deeply into it too, quite annoying...

Ah well, thanks for your efforts Paul! It's a great rom regardless.

Perhaps when the v880 is officially released we can get it working ;)

Evening All

I've been watching this thread with great interest. Maybe a little too much if the truth be known. Don't tell the boss :P

I was just wondering as nobody has mentioned the wifi issue has it been resolved? ;)

Thanks for all your effort Paul! Great ROM nonetheless ;)

UnfortunatelyI still have the lockscreen freeze and need to remove the battery :P

Assuming this is a problem with ZTE kernel, is there any possibility to add something to reboot from lockscreen only using physical buttons? This way at least there was no need to remove/insert the battery when this happen. :P

And once again, thank for your effort Paul!!

  • Restoring the stock lockscreen

...next.

Could we Please have the option of the new lockscreen in the kitchen please? I really prefer it

Also is there any way to modify the framework to get the battery %'s showing please?

I've tried everything and cant get it sussed (even trying the original framework from the original dump as someone suggested, as well as trying loads of other frameworks)

If not any chance of some clues on how to do it? for some reason the earlier methods dont seem to work, neither does the UOT kitchen

can this go straight over alpha1 ROM? (without complete wipe)

anyone?

Sound recorder does not show up in apps, weird, a fix was done by someone somewhere else, cant remember where I saw it

I've enclosed it here but rename it - deleted the .zip off the end

Hi,

I don't know, if you've seen this one:

http://circle.glx.nl/

It's a framework-res kitchen mostly meant for the HTC Desire, I think, yet it partially works for the Blade too - at least for what you need.

You won't be able to change the look of you status bar, for example - this won't work with Paul's FroYo ROM (it does work with the other Blade FroYo ROMs on this forum) but you can still have any kind of battery icon mod you like; also quite a decent choice of icon sets.

Hope this helps.

Nick.

I am playing around with my spouse's blade right now -- coming from Fib's 2.2 ROM to this one in an attempt to avoid or at least reduce the screen freeze issue (as experienced by a bunch a people)...

I SWEAR she used to have the 'undressing Android' as a battery % mod on a black notification bar with a custom set of icons until now. I tried to reflash the same UOT update as she still had it on the card from a previous ROM flash. That did not work - boot loop.

So I made a new UOT file - this time skipping the notification bar customizations (these won't work with Paul's ROM) - now I have custom greyish icons and the 'undressing Android' as a battery mod.

You just say you have the MoDaCo r9 Desire ROM at the end and upload your own framework-res.apk and the UOT file builds OK and flashes over a Blade with no issues.

did you upload your Framework or not?

Yes - I think this is key, otherwise the kitchen tries to build a new framework-res.apk according to the structure of what you declared to be your ROM type. If you upload your own, then it just replaces the icons necessary for the mods you've chosen.

I have no explanation as to why one cannot customize the notification bar on Paul's ROM but can do that with Fib's ROM - the framework-res.apk files look kind of identical.

Weird because everytime I tried I uploaded the framework, yet when I puish it back onto the phone afterwards, it wont boot properly and when it does eventually stop crashing, all the apps crash

trying again now though ;)

edit just crashed yet again

for some weird reason I cannot comprehend.

BTW I'm not worried about the icons I can change them afterwards myself, its the %'s that I cant get working.

I can modify the icons manually but I cant change the battery stats to show the proper % of the battery left

If anyone has a modified battery framework that shows %'s from this rom could they send me a copy please? I'll see if it will work on mine

Regarding the FM radio...

A bit of a stab in the dark, but it sounds to me as if some independent part of the system is switching off the speaker because nothing "claims" it or flags it as being used. I've noticed that you can hear when the speakers/earphone are activated: you can still hear a mild "hiss" for a couple of seconds after a sound is played, and then it stops, so it definitely sounds to me as if some subsystem switches it on and off. The fact that on previous Froyo builds, playing a silent mp3 allowed the radio to keep playing, also supports this theory (i.e. the speaker is allowed to remain active because it knows the mp3 player is using it).

Just an idea, possibly a clue?

Can't stand the unlock screen so tried installing one of the 2.2 themes from the framework thread and now it keeps looping on reboot.

Hi all,

I've only been a member of this forum for a while, but it seems to me that you guys put way too much pressure on Paul.

Jeez, the poor guy must be completely Androided out!

Give the guy a break and be a little more patient. He's been working on this solid for about 3 days from what I can see. ;)

Respect to you Paul. Take a days break with the family, you deserve it.

Cheers.

PS. Unless of course you enjoy it!
