New ZTE Widgets:

• Music widget is not a part of the stock android music player (we may have a new music player coming up or they havnt got around to integrating it yet)
  
  
• Calender widget force closes when opening setup
  
  
• Calender widget uses Chinese writing for the days
  
  • Youtube HQ has a green line above every video ( FIX )
    
    
  • Course GPS still does not work ( Currently no fix )

I just installed the alpha2 over the top of the previous alpha1 (didn't wipe). It seems to solve the main problem for me (email doesn't force close any more) and other stuff works nicely. I am going to stick with this for a while until the next release.

Only thing I really miss now is Flash... I wonder if FlashLite can be made to work with Froyo even if the full thing is a no-go?

I think there was a 2.1 ROM with flash lite (possibly overclocked) if it's that much of an issue for you. I don't think anyone's got flashlite on froyo, though I don't know what the problem is.

The lockscreen is the only thing that will seriously get on my nerves with this rom, Paul could you try to get the old lockscreen working again please ;)

PS: the lockscreen using the pattern to unlock is still the standard one so thats the option we have for now

Bug report:

About 50% of the time the WiFi will not reconnect when turning on from sleep. I have the Blade WiFi Fix installed too. Anyone else experiencing this?

ok jus played with it a bit. green bar across the top is still there when playing hq vids.thats wat ive come across so far. will let you know if i find anything else. otherwise great release. cant wait for alpha3 ;)

set media.stagefright.enable-http to false in build.prop

Confirmed. It's not being caused by stagefright being enabled.. there seems to be another process scanning media files, but not entirely sure. I rolled back to alpha1 using the same build.prop from alpha2 (stagefright enabled) and it doesn't duplicate media entries.. so it's something else added to alpha2. Paul has been informed.

Somebody (Totyasrác I think) reported that some MP3 files do not work. I can confirm this also. Quick and easy fix is to delete libOmxMp3Dec.so from /system/lib. Another lib, libOmxAacDec.so was already removed as this caused streaming video with AAC audio (tvcatchup.com for example) not to work. I suspect these two audio libs are not fully working with the phone so removing them forces Android to use the alternative shared libs. It certainly seems that the entire audio/video playback system is not completely working. This is most likely why ZTE disabled stagefright (although doing so breaks a lot of things). Deleting libs isn't a pretty fix but it works and so far I've not had any issues.

It seems to fix all the problems yes. It's the same thing I had to do with the leaked rom and in flb-froyo.

so the only thing not working is gps via wifi and 3g? on this rom? lol im doing uni work for today at 10 30 no sleep lol

desided to get membership since modaco made my pulse and now my blade a great phone keep up the good work and big thankx

This rom seemed noticeably slower than the previous builds of Froyo when I installed it last night.

Not sure if it's the specific installation on my device or the build itself. ;)

Alpha2. Bug Report:

it is not possible to establish a https:// -session. That may be the reason that it is also not possible to register my Google-Account. In this case the ROM is in the moment useless for me :-(

I have no problem with this. ;) Perhaps a issue on the server end? Test on another site.
