Guest DominicA Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 (edited) Somebody (Totyasrác I think) reported that some MP3 files do not work. I can confirm this also. Quick and easy fix is to delete libOmxMp3Dec.so from /system/lib. What's the easiest way to delete please, I've tried terminal and astro with no success? Thanks Edited December 3, 2010 by DominicA

Guest popoyaya Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Root Explorer (or anything else that can read/write system partition). Root Explorer force closes on me froyo. Tried re-installing few times. Any other explorers with root access?

Guest popoyaya Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 http://tinyurl.com/23a7o7u will help you ;) (SU file manager for example) Right, tried to delete these files with ES Explorer and Astro Explorer and on both occasions it failed due to "insufficient permissions". Is there a way to gain write permissions inside the system folder with a file explorer?

Since I'm satisfied with RootExplorer, I don't know how you should do it with the other tools - but you have to remount the desired folder as R/W (read/write). In order to do so the file manager has to have root (SuperUser) rights. There must be an option somewhere - hope someone is more familiar with these apps... Edited December 3, 2010 by Totyasrác

Guest Skywrit3r Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 (edited) Don't know if it helps, but 'Anntenas' app gets your location perfectly straight away. It feels like the cell ID is given in a wrong way by default. I can confirm this on another FroYo I'm on FLB-Froyo G2 and Antennas gives me a "correct" network location. Maps puts me in the middle of Sweden or gives no location at all. One strange thing is that the GPS-symbol stops blinking when a coarse location is found. I'm indoors and have no GPS reception so I don't have a GPS fix. Edited December 3, 2010 by Skywrit3r
Guest popoyaya Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 download UniversalAndroot_1.6.1.apk then install it click unroot then click root then open root explorer Phone already rooted. Can't run Root Explorer as it FCs every time.

Guest Nick Rhodes Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 This rom seemed noticeably slower than the previous builds of Froyo when I installed it last night. Not sure if it's the specific installation on my device or the build itself. ;) I tried one of the very early builds of Froyo and it appeared to be faster than 2.1 stock OR MCR. I also downloaded alpha2 last night and found it slow and laggy moving between screens on the launcher. It also seems very very slow at connecting to wireless (says "scanning" for a long time in the WiFi preferences). Does not appear to be downloading calendar data (which i noticed someone already reported a few pages back) - I noticed its not even getting a list of my calendars and that it was repeatedly trying to sync. Lock screen is horrid. I use an unlock pattern, so don't normally see this screen. Looks pretty but just don't like the way it works as much in 2.1 Was fun to try, will happily test a newer version. Cheers, Nick
Guest bagatov Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Any screen freezes from owners of the UK San Fransisco version yet? Those who had problems with the previous rom, has this new version improved things? (Refering to the Lockscreen-freeze-bug).
Guest nicksoph Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Phone already rooted. Can't run Root Explorer as it FCs every time. download UniversalAndroot_1.6.1.apk then install it click unroot then click root then open root explorer I think this is good advice - root seems not to be permanent for some If you search the blade forum for chmod - there is a method which worked using chmod which seemed to make it permanent for me but I still needed to run Androot before I could apply the chmod fix.

Menu - root options then check "Root Explorer" and "Mount File System" when you have done what you need to do un check them both again before exiting the app or the next time you run it it will get into a tiz about being unable to find the SD Card
