Yes mine too and i think it's due to high cpu...mine seems to be stuck at 600mhz. If i half the speed with setcpu it sticks at that or whatever i set it too. Also task manager shows it as being stuck on full usage too.

I'm also getting a much faster battery drain compared to FLB Froyo, my CPU is also stuck at 600mhz (maybe why this rom feels snappier) so I don't think scaling is working properly. I'm not getting 100% CPU usage, averaging around 5-10%.

Oh mine seems to have fixed itself. The sliders are messed up in setcpu but the speeds drops down to 122mhz if i leave it now ;)

Frankish, pardon my dumbness.

But i noticed that myu battery drained quite quickly.

I only checked 'battery use', and that shows android system= 95%, cellstandy 4% and phone idle 2%.

I'm confused, what do i actually check to look at battery use and CPU usage?, and what do i do to rectify the high battery usage issue?

Can you overclock this ROM? - not that i want to ATMIT.

I use setcpu to see cpu usage.

Anyone know if htc ime mod is fixed in alpha 3? It doesn't show up in alpha 2 i have removed and reinstalled too. Or do i have to use the one from this forum in the stickys that Paul repacked?

moved to this froyo rom once then moved back, at the time it was really really slow, even at the lock screen it was slow. i was wondering if i was to quick to judge the new rom and revert to my backup. does the rom sort itself out after a while and become as quick as people say?

p.s: new to android, so whats the main benefits of froyo?

When you are finished with the English lesson, you may well try to answer my question?

My blade doesn't boot with the 03 baked firmware :/ Just shows the operator (Saunalahti, finnish phone) startup screen, then the www.modaco.com screen and get's stuck there.

looks quite nice that firmware so far, but the facebook app is very laggy now in opposite to the 2.1 modaco firmware. where does that come from?

@rogerpe, did you wipe cache and data

Thanks for the help, yes I wiped them but did it again after the flash. Now it boots fine.

edit: Can't get the saunalahti apn to work. Wifi works great but data over 3g doesn't :/ No 3g symbol in the upper bar.

The apn settings are 100% right, ordered them straight from the operator.

edit2: Had to turn on roaming in order to get 3g working (wtf)

Alpha 3 brings me 1072 in Quadrant, pretty nice. Nearly as fast as a Droid X now. Keep up the good work Paul!

I agree , half a day, then the phone is gone! Even with the disire battery tweak. Im running alpha 2.

One more thing: The drawer is really smooth while scrolling in this release, but the homescreen isn't. With launcherPro plus, the homescreen is so smooth, but the drawer isn't.

Is there anything to combine these two? ;D

And Will the battery drain stop with the alpha 3? otherwise im back on the first froyo release, it worket almost as fine as this, with a quadrant score above 1000...

except for that, good work!

Thank you, I am not the only one. Can U take a look at this please Paul? I am impressed by your work and the speed to find problems in the roms! Keep it up Champ!!

I found the battery life in FLB-Froyo was hugely improved when I disabled hardware acceleration. HW acceleration was disabled in alpha1 which had better battery life, so I'm gonna see if it helps to have it disabled in alpha3.

Remember ppl SETCPU can be used to save Battery.

I have a Profile set for when the screen if off

MIN: 350MHZ

MAX: 500MHZ

GOVERNOR: Conservative.

You will almost double the current Battery life doing this.

IF you go too low for your MIN, there may be a 2 second lag when u tun the screen or receive a call.

DUPLICATE GALLERY ITEMS AND MUSIC WORKAROUND.

For the very few of us using alpha 2 and 3 who are experiencing either one or two of the above symptoms i have worked my way around it. If you have both problems of music x2 and gallery items x2 then before you flash remove music.apk and gallery3d.apk from the rom zip or just the offending one. Flash the rom and let it boot etc. Now boot into recovery and push both apk's or the offending one back to your /system/apps/ folder. When the rom boots your apps will be there and only have 1 of each song in music player and only 1 of each picture.

Alternatively if you do not want to reflash you can try removing music.apk and gallery3d.apk then boot into recovery and push them back.

Not sure what is causing this problem but this worked for me.

Hi, click here to see what HSDPA means. Shortly said it is the fastest connection you can get on a mobile handset (different stages depending on the implementation: 3,6 7,2 14,4 or 21 Mbps). Beneath are 3G or UMTS (384 Kbps), EDGE (~220 Kbps) and GPRS (~56 Kbps).

Your phone won't connect to the mobile data network if your APN is not set. You can check this by going into SETTINGS-WIRELESS CONTROLS-MOBILE NETWORK SETTINGS-ACCESS POINT NAMES. If there isn't anything there press MENU and make a new access point (google the settings like "T-Mobile android settings").

Thanks Paul for the hard work!

ive done all of that and everything is set as it should be. even used manual APN but still no go.thanks for the advice though. got it to say 'connecting' but after that it didnt connect. alpha 3 is still great though!!!
