Guest lixcab Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 Paul, I know your not paid to be doing this, but any chance you could reply regarding GPS?? Thanks Louis Maps app takes forever to lock or sometimes it doesn't at all. The Navigation App locks pretty quick and running map app straight after the Naviation app lock makes the Map app get a GPS lock. You might want to try that?
Guest JohnMetz Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 I've used GPS here OK? What specific issue? P ] Hi Paul Not wishing to speak for Louis, for me coarse positioning from cell information (prior to the GPS lock or when in a building) is the issue. Regards John
Guest Paul Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 Coarse positioning is a known issue listed in post 3. P
Guest Totyasrác Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 ] Hi Paul Not wishing to speak for Louis, for me coarse positioning from cell information (prior to the GPS lock or when in a building) is the issue. Regards John Then it is NOT GPS issue (nothing to do with Global Positioning System, vene though people like to call it as A-GPS). Please name it to coarse location issue to help Paul understand what it's all about. (This one doesn't work for me either but it ain't no deal breaker ;))
Guest Hans Gruber Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 (edited) For me the actual GPS using satellites works fine (and locks pretty quickly) but it can't find my rough location using the network (i believe that is called coarse GPs?) edit: ahh explained better above ;) Edited December 6, 2010 by Hans Gruber
Guest LouisUK Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 (edited) Coarse positioning isnt my problem. GPS alone isnt working at all. When trying to find my position on maps or navigation im getting "error: cannot find location" This is the same regardless of wifi or 3g connectivity. Also the weather widget is not providing any updates or info - when i try to change city it crashes. L Edited December 6, 2010 by LouisUK

Guest LouisUK Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 (edited) Do you have GPS enabled at all? Checking it outside, without high walls/trees close around? Its enabled via the settings, outside or inside doesnt make a difference. Its certainly acting like it is not enabled. Also to add, when im trying to use GPS (once turned on) i do get the icon appear in the top bar as normal. Edited December 6, 2010 by LouisUK

Guest TheDOC1 Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 @Paul: Do you know, why the root partition is mounted r/w? Bug or feature?
Guest 5ubtil Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 Hello there... I've been using Flibblesan R3a for a while now, with no major problems (except those well described) and I am wondering if I should "update" to this more recent ROM. For everyone who've tested both ROMs, do you feel there is any noticeable diference that made you stick with one or the other. thank you.
Guest admanirv Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 (edited) Paul, silly question but will the prebaked ROM have bugfixes/be better than the kitchen rom that has been available for the last couple of days (R3)? Cheers Edited December 6, 2010 by admanirv

Guest Paul Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 @Paul: Do you know, why the root partition is mounted r/w? Bug or feature? Neither, just happens. Easily reversed if desired. ;) P

Guest Frankish Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 Will alpha 4 be based on Gingerbread and have overclock to 2ghz? Thanks for the alpha 3 prebake. I had a go at stock-ifying the lock screen myself but smali might as well be mandarin to me i just can't understand the stuff!
Guest Lew247 Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 Sim Toolkit doesn't show in the apps list even though its installed

There is no chance of Gingerbread on our phones for a very long time, its only just today come out on one phone only. Froyo isn't even working properly yet and that's been available for months on lots of other phones.
