[OLED+TFT] 09/Feb r12: MoDaCo Custom Froyo ROM download + Online Kitchen

Any chance someone could just humour me and try installing wordfeud (free version) from the market, as the missus loves it, and I can't get it to install on this ROM. I just want to check whether its something to do with my load rather than an incompatibility issue. It works on 2.2/2.2.1 on my hero.

IIRC it errors, with the space issue, and the box to "manage applications" pops up. I have A2SD configured, and seems to be working fine + there is plenty of space.

No yet logcat'd as I need to sort out adb on my win7 64bit machine and haven't got round to it yet. ;)

thanks :P

Seriously Paul you are f***ing great!, could you explain the fix so I don't have to download the whole rom again ;)

Hi, on the a3 release, my only problem is that now angry birds is seriously lagy compared to the a2. Everything else works great, calendar, gps etc.

thanks Paul, great work.

are you sure your running alpha 3?, Angry birds is running incredibly smooth on mine... some levels require you to wait whilst the textures ect.. load but after that theres no lag:)

when a level starts wait untill the birds have fully loaded (jumping is smooth)

Awesome! ;)

When Paul creates a custom ROM, he's not typing codes, the codes are "high-fiving" him!

Thanks!

Incidentally, 99% confident the stock lock screen can be merged into this. It's not particularly straightforward, but it's do-able. ;)

Based on the assumption that keypad backlights can't be fixed (no kernel support), it looks like the FM radio is the last outstanding major issue.

Whoa Paul's fixed everything most people care about in a few days! ;)

Quick question: Is the FM chip in the SF capable of transmitting? Always wanted to play with one of those :P

Paul, A few suggestions for alpha 4/ (should be beta 1 now ;)):

Remove zte widgets -

  • BookMark.apk (works)

  • CalenderWidget.apk (works but uses Chinese text for the displayed days)

  • MusicWidget.apk (Broken, no functionality)
    • Rplace the lockscreen with semi transparent background (black 50%)

    • Invert or replace the numbers with white versions

    • Provided - Lockscreen files

Or try to replace the lockscreen with stock.

    Dialer -

[*]Replace with stock dialer ( from flibblesans rom)

you've made the blade worth having :P

Removing ZTE widgets - agreed, keep forgetting to do that. :P

Lockscreen - not decided what to do with that yet...

Hi Paul, just wanted to check, the Browser Zoom buttons are transparent - is that a bug? The buttons function correctly so this is not a major bug of course.

It could just be happening on my device.

Thanks!

Edit: Virtual buttons, of course.

Should be easily fixed within the framework ;)

Edit: yep, framework issue (fixable)

Am I right in thinking that upgrading to future version of this will not require any wiping?

EG If I am on alpha4 and Paul releases alpha5 I can just update my ROM without doing a clean install?

Appreciated,

Andy

Worked for me Andy. I just stuck alpha 4 on top of alpha 3 without wiping. Had to reload a few widgets, but everything else is exactly as it was.

Now that coarse position seems to be fixed I just subscribed to AdFree. As soon as I am @home I will go into your kitchen and get some froyo out of the fridge ;).

Great work, man - keep it up!
