Guest Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) regarding "Coarse location (network / WiFi location) fix" i assume you mean "Course location (network / WiFi location) fix"? you can remove it from the known issues list on post #3 now ;) Edited December 7, 2010 by Guest
Guest Viruss Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 I assume that "coarse" is correct since it refers to obtaining "not precise" location using network/wifi data.
Guest Pully Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 No, its Coarse as in rough/loose/crude Hopefully going to get around to trying this ROM out shortly, thanks for all the hard work Paul
Guest ropin Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 The LEDs behind the hardware buttons (Home, Menu, Back). is that even when charging etc, i like the red to green charge indicators
Guest hecatae Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 is that even when charging etc, i like the red to green charge indicators the charging led works fine
Guest lixcab Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 the charging led works fine Notification lights work as well. I believe it's just the white LED backgrounds to see in the dark.
Guest Nick Rhodes Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Will try Alpha 4 tonight. Paul, when will you decide to move from Alpha to Beta status - IMO unless any regressions happen to Alpha4 next release could be deemed Beta, you just need to decide on what the default software (dialler, lock screen etc) will be.
Guest Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 paul, do you intend on putting the new keyboard from gingerbread in the next build? http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-app...redictions.html
Guest Paul Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 I currently have the GB launcher, keyboard and a few other bits on my Blade. ;) P
Guest Winston69 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) Just tried installing this and it's hung on the modaco man and the screen times out - should I just continue to wait? Wiped EVERYTHING btw Edited December 7, 2010 by Winston69
Guest Al_Jolson Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 I've noticed some of the icons I had saved in there have gone, and most of my pictures took by the internal camera have now gone. I wonder if it's part of the duplicate image bug that Paul has now fixed? I'll reflash the new version where it's fixed and see how I get on. No joy for me. I loaded alpha 4, copied a jpg into the "download" folder on the SD card, and rebooted. Once again the "download" folder is now empty. Can anyone confirm that they are NOT affected by this? Wondering if it's just me & cobhc, or whether it's a blip that nobody has spotted yet... Thanks.
Guest Winston69 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Just tried installing this and it's hung on the modaco man and the screen times out - should I just continue to wait? Wiped EVERYTHING btw Ha thinking back I might of missed the launcher out of the kitchen, lol that'd do it ;) Can i just put the launcherpro.apk into the zipped rom?

Guest Simon O Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) I currently have the GB launcher, keyboard and a few other bits on my Blade. ;) P Any chance of these files please? I tried the keyboard but it's drawing the keys too small even when using the HDPI version. Oh and a tip for people. You dont have to use the old style A2SD. Install an application called Move2SD (ROOT) from the market and it'll allow you to install any application to the SD card using the Froyo Apps to SD method. The Froyo method doesn't use an ext2 partition so you don't have to mess about with partitioning. I'm using it and I've not had any problems. Just don't move any system apps, widgets or keyboard to the SD. Edited December 7, 2010 by flibblesan
Guest Paul Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Yeah, i'm testing / prepping now. ;) P

Guest admanirv Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Good work paul, So coarse location etc is now working fully in alpha 4.
Guest admanirv Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 I'm having an issue with chompSMS not running upon first startup, i have to force to close to get it to work? Any ideas?
Guest Viruss Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 I can confirm that the coarse location is working on this release! Great work! I just hope that the screen freezes will be fixed as well ;)
Guest beady_uk Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 @paul Any chance of a flashable zip to fix course location on R3. to save baking a whole rom just for this fix. Cheers
Guest Paul Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Updated alpha4 kitchen to add transparent lockscreen (so your wallpaper is displayed) with redrawn resources. Text colour is still black at this time. P
Guest Paul Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 @paul Any chance of a flashable zip to fix course location on R3. to save baking a whole rom just for this fix. Cheers Not as yet. P
Guest Sandy mk1 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Has anyone had any joy getting to the bottom of the Froyo screen lockup after 12-ish hours issue? It may initially be mildly inconvenient to pull the battery, but after a few days I fear the back panel is going to start feeling baggy on many SF's. ;)
Guest wazy Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Hi all, I just installed the pre-bake r3 and now my contacts are in the xxx-xxx-xxxxx format, how do I change back to UK? I checked my languages and made sure they were english UK, and they are. I can go into each contact manually and delete the - it then deletes the number before it so I have to type it back in. This fixes individual contacts, but its gonna take forever! Anyone know how to blanket fix them all? wazy
