Guest Totyasrác Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 may i ask a stupid question... how do i change the background picture of the lockscreen? I tried using apps but they changed the slider which I'd very much like to keep... please help =D It's transparent - whatever you have as wallpaper is your lockscreen background ;) (Careful - the fonts are black so you should choose something light as wallpaper if you wanna be able to read anything on the lockscreen :P
Guest Alex_P Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 It is only transparent in the not-yet-released to the masses alpha 4, IIUC
Guest Totyasrác Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 It is only transparent in the not-yet-released to the masses alpha 4, IIUC Thought there's a prebake already ;) In that case - a bit of patience is required :P
Guest MrHicks Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) Is there a way to set the minimum clock frequency to 122mhz? which I think is the lowest the CPU will run at, as the minimum in this rom seems to be 245mhz which may have an effect on battery life. edit: Managed to do this with setCPU, although not a free fix. Guest veehexx Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) just flashed this rom, and really not liking the new lockscreen. is there a way to remove it/replace it with stock android slider lockscreen? (in on alpha3) (i presume this isnt the reason behind the 2.2 touchscreen freezing?) Edited December 7, 2010 by veehexx

Guest lixcab Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 This has been asked a lot lately, and can be done, just not been done by anyone yet lol. I use no lock as a workaround. http://www.appbrain.com/app/no-lock/org.jraf.android.nolock
Guest Woshmistro Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 I've installed alpha 3 and I'm wondering about the flash player, I go onto the BBC iPlayer site and choose a program to watch, it asks for the latest flash and when I click the link it goes to the market and says the app isn't found, so I get the .apk from a site and install the app that way but it fails to install.
Guest Alex_P Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 The CPU in the blade/SF is not supported by flash, so it won't work.
Guest buneech Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Blade has a ARMv6 processor, Adobe Flash was made for ARMv7, thus the compatibility issue.
Guest hegde19 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Hi Paul, I have been using alpha 3 for around a day now.. and its cool. Thanks to you for that. Here are few things that I noticed: - Unable to transfer files from Computer to mobile using Bluetooth (although they pair without any issues) - Weather widget (the one with Time) force closes. - Calendar widget has weekdays written in Chinese.. ;) - Wifi takes noticeably longer time to connect Regards Hegde

The phone has plenty of other stuff and apps to use.
Guest lordjubblydave Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 I have Been using alpha 3 for a day. The only real issue for me so far is the lock screen has been unresponsive twice and needing the batery to be pulled. F

Guest ScaredyCat Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) alpha4 WIP kitchen online with test coarse location fix! P Seems like coarse location fix works. Just out of interest, what was the problem/cause of it not working? SC Edited December 7, 2010 by ScaredyCat
Guest ScaredyCat Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Whoooaaaaaaa!!! I that your location Paul? It looks pretty close to my house! SC
Guest Simon O Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Seems like coarse location fix works. Yep, works perfectly No GPS enabled, 3G only ;)
Guest Sandy mk1 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 I actually think this is a very good build, but the issue of pulling the battery every day seems like the biggest flaw to me, i don't know why others are not commenting on it, unless you power down your phone every day and don't notice the problem?

Never had a problem that needed me to pull the battery on any of Pauls MCR Froyo roms. What problem do you have and do you have an OLED screened device or TFT?
Guest PeTiNgA Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) I'm having the same problem in all 2.2 ROMs (lock screen freeze). Since there are so many users reporting that everything is Ok, maybe it's an application that's trigger this? Two of them I can think right now are NoLED because prevents full sleep on the device, or PowerAmp since it adds a widget to the lockscreen. I've an OLED Orange SF btw. Guest JolyonS Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Never had a problem that needed me to pull the battery It's a problem that has been experienced on all the Froyo ROMs here, assume OLED screens, mine is anyway - on waking the digitiser is not responding so you can't unlock the phone. You can reboot with ADB. It may be related to the length of time the system has been up / battery life - certainly the only time I;ve experienced this was after the phone was left overnight and had very little battery remaining. As I've not seen it happen again I've not looked into it.
Guest aszu Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Because I don't experience it. I haven't had one freeze, and have only rebooted every few days to install a new ROM. Same here - I use alpha2 and my phone uptime is about 80 hours. Haven't got a single freeze.
