[OLED+TFT] 09/Feb r12: MoDaCo Custom Froyo ROM download + Online Kitchen

on 256MB Blades all roms multitask very wrong.

kalt_kaffe's ROMs solve this problem by adding swap - it is very fast on Blade for its card reader is good.

But it is 2.1.

Is there any benefit of using 2. 6. 32 kernel? If not, it would be nice to have a Froyo based on .29, probably kalt_kaffe's custom kernel, so swap could be enabled.

Would I be right in saying this works fine on TFT devices? Seems OK here?

P

After a day of intense use of alpha 3 on a TFT the only thing I found (don't even know if it can be called a bug) is that when using touchpal as input and the dictionary is activated it crashes (it minimizes and I have to bring it up again).

Other than that i haven't came across anything suspicious (0 freezes!)

Once again thanks for this sweet ROM Paul (so glad it is TFT compatible ;))

will bake something for me now.

It's a problem that has been experienced on all the Froyo ROMs here, assume OLED screens, mine is anyway - on waking the digitiser is not responding so you can't unlock the phone.

You can reboot with ADB.

It may be related to the length of time the system has been up / battery life - certainly the only time I;ve experienced this was after the phone was left overnight and had very little battery remaining.

As I've not seen it happen again I've not looked into it.

I got my SF on 22nd November, so OLED. ;)

Its exactly what your saying, the digitiser is not responding. Other physical keys do respond.

Whats ADB? If I can reboot with that without touching the screen (or more importantly the battery cover) then I'll be happy! :P Because other than that flaw I think the Alpha 3 of Froyo is great guys! :P

My dialer force closes, I've tried searching but can't find a fix. I'm using R3. Help.

Is there a way to set the minimum clock frequency to 122mhz? which I think is the lowest the CPU will run at, as the minimum in this rom seems to be 245mhz which may have an effect on battery life.

edit: Managed to do this with setCPU, although not a free fix.

SetCPU, full version, is free here.

why does the contact list shows the local contacts? with the little phone for the 'no picture' contacts. I'd like to have the original one with the android robot. How can i get it?

And is there any way to change the lockscreen to the slider one? This one is laggy.

If you can reboot with ADB, why don't you run a logcat and post it here, so Paul can see what is the problem?

Never had a problem that needed me to pull the battery on any of Pauls MCR Froyo roms. What problem do you have and do you have an OLED screened device or TFT?

I have an OLED uk san fran and experience the same issues with the different froyo-roms (haven't tried this one yet thought), always stable with different 2.1 roms. As has been described, the digitizer seems to stop working randomly when entering the lockscreen or sleeping state. Those with tft-screens seem to experience this all the time, but for me it was random, like once or twice a day. Everything else works, the physical keys give haptic feedback and all, just like the digitizer gives up or refuses to wake up from sleep.

Hi sorry Im totally new to all of this so please dont slate me. Ive run a search but cant find anything I actually understand O.o

With this ROM how easy is it to get the default lock screen back? Im planning on getting a premium account so I get access to the Alpha 4 kitchen but Im not such a huge fan of the lock screen shown in the screenshots. Is there an easy way to get the default one back?

Thanks in advance,

I newbie in need of help >.<

I'm having the same problem in all 2.2 ROMs (lock screen freeze). Since there are so many users reporting that everything is Ok, maybe it's an application that's trigger this?

Two of them I can think right now are NoLED because prevents full sleep on the device, or PowerAmp since it adds a widget to the lockscreen.

I've an OLED Orange SF btw.

As per my earlier post on this thread, I had many lockscreen freezes using Alpha 3 which I had never experienced before on any build (I use FLB r2 full-time).

I eventually realised that it was when I used a particular mains charger; if I unplugged my blade (OLED) from the charger the screen unfroze.

Could it be that the latest builds are more sensitive to the quality of power supplied? That charger went straight into the bin!

I only charge at night, and I already had screen freezes during the day, so, at least for me doesn't seem to be charging related ;)

I think that was just the GPS being a bit sh*t special in earlier versions. It thought I was in Yorkshire too :P

Hmmm Alpha 3 yesterday and all day today and no lock up of screen

Alpha 4 and the screen locked up within half hour.

Pulled battery and will see what happens now.

are any english speaking countries getting an official froyo build for the zte blade? Hopefully we could mod it and have the problems left in this rom fixed. How about gingerbread, have any carriers for any countries said their zte blade will get 2.3?
