New issue - mail client set up to connect to my Exchange server successfully. However when trying to open any item it force closes...

Weird, never happened with any 2.1 or 2.2 versions so far :P

(Edited: not only inbox but any item.)

FM Radio plays the only first couple of seconds only (as with the other Froyo version based on the Chinese sources).

can i update from flb g2 without wipe?

Have you read the first post mate?

"You must also almost certainly wipe before installation."

Might give it a try but it's highly recommended to do a wipe.

...s on Tesco pay monthly ...

Now showing correct network operator (r3a showed tesco as O2)

... the lock screen shows no service ...

...

Network = Giffgaff (UK) shows No network on the lock screen

...

Clearly the lockscreen "no network" bug has to do with hosted networks only. (One for ZTE, I think.)

Gps accurate to within 20 metres (wifi turned off)

did you add any gps related tweaks?

@Paul: Did you replace the stock-camera? The stock-camera had a brightness-slider.

I know that it was force-closing ... but it can be fixed with a symlink:

ln -s /sdcard/media /data/media

(if I remember correctly.)

I did, I found this one a little more responsive, i'll re-check it tomorrow tho.

If the camera stuff is changed, wouldn't it be a service to our Finnish friends to change it to stuff that worked for them too?

Optimising, at this pre-beta stage, for maximum applicability rather than speed?

Hopefully, when the production 2.2's start showing up, they will cover both cameras - and not just the 5mp ... !

GPS works brill. Just tested outside and locked on almost instantly. Had wireless turned on, however not set up wifi yet.

Rearding the wifi, every time I try to add my password (28 characters as android doesnt seem to support passphrases) it lets me enter my key and then just says scanning.....if I try and enter a password with lot less charachters, eg 6, it trys to cnnect and get IP address. I know someone mentioned problem like this before but not sure if it was tracked down.

Wonder if there is anything limiting the amount of characters. Im using WEP encryption

Obviously for me this is quite a major bug. Will reset router and try other few things and post any updates.

My GPS is working well. Acc 2-3 meters in clear sky with GPS-Status. Fix in about a min.

I did change gps.conf though as per earlier fixes.

I don't think there has ever been a problem with the GPS's fine location. (As long as the GPS can 'get a proper fix' - when the symbol stops flashing - easier outdoors, with more satellites 'in view' to work from.)

Rather the problem has been with the quick and dirty "coarse location" - which, instead of giving approximate position, gives a location in the centre of the country (in Yorkshire for mainland UK).

Isn't the coarse location derived from the cell network, as a 'clue' to the GPS for a faster, easier fix? (Assisted GPS)

Didn't someone notice that the earlier FroYo kernel was trying to use Chinese servers for that cell network positioning? (With predictable lack of success!)

(I'll let the cross post stand!)

yup, I'm the one that saw that problem, on WPA2. My key uses 31 characters and I had the behaviour you mention. Taking this down to a simple 87654321 key worked fine. I did try it on 4 different wifi routers, all behaved the same. Still don't know what causes it. I was using FLB r3a at the time. I haven't tried this release yet but will be trying later.

Qualcomm are using a feature they call "Wiper" this "feature" does what google does and scans local wifi-spots and uploads to their servers for later use in "indoor gps performance" find the settings in /etc/wiperconfig.xml

Flash player 10.1 comes preinstalled (version 10.1.92.8)

but as far as I can see it doesnt work..... but then thats hardly suprising seen as the chipset isnt actually supported....yet (hopefully) :P

would have been a nice xmass pressie if that one slipped under the radar!
