Guest Bassey Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Hey there I have installed Ulysse but it just doesn't seem to be picking up any Satellites whether i'm outdoors or indoors whether I try to just use the data connection or with the GPS activated wifi switched on or off. Nothing at all! Not sure what to do now any help would be greatly appreciated! That's a shame. Sounds like a problem with the ROM. I think I'd be tempted to start again from scratch. Full reset, make sure the battery is fully charged, re-download the ROM and apply it. Obviously take a Nandroid beforehand, just in case.
Guest BCODE Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Hi.. firstly, thanks for the release. Froyo 2.2 has fixed the severe memory issues I was having with 2.1 (I failed to partition my SDHC card correctly so that I could install apps on SDHC instead of internal). The GPS is a lot better too. The battery life has taken a big hit but I'm going to stick with this release so that I install more apps. I need some help with the gallery though. After upgrading from 2.1 to 2.2, the gallery is not picking up my photo albums located at sdcard/DCIM. I can see all the images using Astro but the gallery won't load then. I also can't change my ringtone to the tunes I have in my audio directory. Can someone please advise? Hello can someone please help with this Issue. THe gallery just failes to pick up my existing photos even though they are on my SD Card and I can access them via astro. I have tried photoburst and get the same issue. I have tried reinstalling the ROM (without wiping data and cache) and the same issue. I have also tried removing the Android directory and also wiping the data of the Gallery app via Titanium back up but no result. I have spent all day yesterday and this morning trying to get this to work but no luck.
Guest AlphaVision Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 What apps for FM radio do you guys use?

If so, it's probable that the SD card is in use by the PC and is unavailable to the phone. disconnect the usb cable and try.

Guest dantekavala Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 how can i download the alpha 4 version?
Guest samjam Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Sorry, was only joking if there was a hint of disappointment in my previous statement, lol i dont consider it wasted money at all i know there will be many many more roms released over the next year and look forward to trying them out! Everyone else i urge to pay and support then the dev have more incentive to contribute etc ...... after all this hobby must take a lot of time :) Ill get back to you on the Adb logs and try send paul a copy 2! If anyone else has had the problems iv had with this rom and managed to fix it please get back to me! it sounds to me like you are using an old OLED rom in a new TFT phone. Thats why brightness doesn't work (it's handled differently) and why the screen won't light up when it wakes.
Guest Bassey Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 how can i download the alpha 4 version? Subscribe to Modaco. Then you can access the alpha 4 from the first post of this thread.

Guest jtc42 Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Hi sorry Im new here, so I have a disgustingly newbish question >.< Whats the normal time period between updates of this ROM? I just got my SF (early Christmas present :) ) and I'm just playing around with it for the time being until my current phone completely dies, and I dont want to flash A4 ow if A5 is going to be out in like a weeks time. I'm gonna be honest, Im not sure why, just me being a bit weird, but I also ask just as a matter of interest. Looks like an amazing ROM though and I cannot wait to try it out with a lovely Gingerbread theme :)

Guest Cobble Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 So what's the secret to getting Alpha 4 to boot with an SD card inserted? Mine refuses to go past the Modaco boot screen with an SD card inserted.

Mine refuses to go past the Modaco boot screen with an SD card inserted. Do you have A2SD installed? if so do you have an additional EXT2 partition on your sd card?
Guest PeaNut_HU Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Could you please tell me how can i do that? You could just have used the search function or browse the pinned topics... but here you are: http://android.modaco.com/index.php?act=an...;f=359&id=2
Guest Cobble Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Do you have A2SD installed? if so do you have an additional EXT2 partition on your sd card? Seemed to be down to a knackered SD card. Changed it and everything's going grand now.
Guest davnig Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 is a new version (alpha5/beta) coming soon? i noticed that the developing was really fast and i dont want to flash in a few days a new rom :) As long as you're flashing an upgrade to the same version 2.1 -> 2.1 or 2.2 -> 2.2 then it's not really a hassle with Clockwork, takes less than 5 min once the rom is on the SD card, you don't lose apps or data and get a shiny new ROM. And if you don't like it, flash back to the old ROM and 5 min later you're back where you were
Guest Exit Strategy Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 OK so I signed up for the kitchen and got alpha4 and GPS is working but now it says phobne is sim network subset locked. What does that mean? Google is a bit vague!
Guest Lew247 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Unlock the phone link in the stickies
Guest ergo911 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 What fixes will be in next release?
Guest mirotis Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Hi to all, after i installed this A4 ROM i noticed that battery life is worse than 2.1. Also although i use advanced task killer. apps apear again after few seconds. While in 2.1 a killed app would not appear before i use it again, in that rom apps start on their own no nomatter how often i use atk. Is this a problem with this rom or do i miss something?
Guest targetbsp Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) Task Killers are bad for battery life and the phones stability so Google made them not work in Android 2.2. Google the words task killer android if you want to know why. :) Edited December 16, 2010 by targetbsp
